He should give a speech detailing the economic class he was raised and whether people in his neighborhood were proud of their lawns. That would work.

I smell a fake story that was planted to create pressure.
The way it’s “reported,” CNN has seemingly told everyone of political consequence in NC about this spicy story but hasn’t actually published the story yet?

The dems have been running ads non stop about how much a threat he is.
I’m not going to take their word for it.
If he was a dem the dems would praise him and call anyone a racist that questioned it.

It has nothing to do with the severity of the action but how much value the campaign puts on Robinson vs. the potential baggage of whatever Robinson said
Trump could do something 10x worse than Robinson and they're not going to call for Trump to step aside, obviously

There have been some pretty damning commercials run against him … one about abortion and women not being able to keep their skirts down and another about “some people just need killing”. I’m sure the full context is missing, but the soundbites aren’t helping him.

No question - he’s a terrible candidate and will be an unforced error if North Carolina elects a dem governor in a presidential election year. He’s up there with Kari Lake, Herschel Walker and Doug Mastriano guaranteed L’s in important races.
