They definitely would’ve frowned over the Kenyan ruling by EO

They’d probably be too busy wondering why all those tribal people from Spanish colonies were sneaking into the American colonies

I love it when board Progressives invoke the Founding Fathers. Tell us more about the inviolability of American Constitutionalism, Blitz.

They would be against it. But that probably wouldn’t make the top 100 of things that they would be stunned by in America today.

They would also wonder why Texas militia wasn’t just killing the invaders

Do you think any of the founders would have wanted open borders and allow any third worlder to just set up in America?

Let me help you out.

The original United States Naturalization Law of March 26, 1790 (1 Stat. 103) provided the first rules to be followed by the United States in the granting of national citizenship. This law limited naturalization to immigrants who were free White persons of good character. It thus excluded Native Americans, indentured servants, slaves, free blacks and later Asians, although free blacks were allowed citizenship at the state level in certain states. It also provided for citizenship for the children of U.S. citizens born abroad, stating that such children "shall be considered as natural born citizens," the only US statute ever to use the term. It specified that the right of citizenship did "not descend to persons whose fathers have never been resident in the United States."

They’d say having 31 active national emergencies dating back to the 70’s is a crock.

Would The Founding Fathers be paying Income Tax? And then have their tax money be used for the upkeep of millions of lawless invaders?
The Founding Fathers would just invade Mexico and kill everybody there.

Washington was too busy smoking hemp to notice.

Adams and Hamilton would love them!

Jefferson would have loved a revolution 150 years ago, and then 100 years ago and then 50 years ago, and today too!

Was that an honest enough answer for you?

I think that this would be close to the bottom of their worries. I'd say they'd begin with things like:

1. Income tax
2. Forced healthcare
3. entitlements
4. MIC
5. loss of freedoms

etc......but yeah, let's focus on what they would say about a national emergency

I assume you are referencing the NEA.

They would be appalled at the degree to which Congress has surrendered its authority to the Executive.

They would probably laugh at the Democrats for complete lack of forethought resulting in them shooting themselves in the foot again.

National Emergencies Act enacted Sept 14,1976

Senate breakdown 61 D 37 R 2 other
House breakdown 291 D 144 R

Congress has delegated at least 136 distinct statutory emergency powers to the President upon the declaration of an emergency. Only 13 require a declaration from Congress; the remaining 123 are invoked by an executive declaration with no Congressional input.

1. I'm not a progressive. But keep making assumptions that help you sleep at night.

2. 3 honest answers. Mostly deflections.
