Now that Hatch is retiring.
Mittens and DJT had a fairly amicable relationship during his SOS search, but that has since soured.

Mitt kissed Trump’s arse because he wanted the SOS job. He has absolutely no reason to kiss Trump’s arse as a Senator (or candidate) from Utah.
Hell, Utah will celebrate Romney going against Trump on a lot of matters important to Mormons.

No doubt Mitt will be bringing the heat in his campaign, but with Mitt and Trump at odds, it's created an interesting dynamic.

I think DJT leaves it alone. Mitt and DJT might disagree but I don’t think Mitt would purposely try to derail the president’s agenda.

I agree with this.
However I do hope another candidate besides Mitt rises to the top and not McMuffin. He would be worse than Mitt.

Dude has been doing it from the sidelines since even before Trump got elected. I just don't trust Mitt one iota.

Would Huntsman give up his post as ambassador to Russia to take a Senate seat?
He is an ex governor of Utah and would probably do it just to put a thumb in Romney’s eye since they represent rival Mormon power families.

I think some are underestimating how much Mormons do not like Trump. They are not like evangelicals.

Huntsman is a twice elected governor of the state and part of one of the Mormon power families.
He’s one of the few potential candidates I can see running against Romney in Utah and making it a contest.
It’s mainly a question as to whether Huntsman wants to go to war with Romney and if Trump’s agenda benefits from Huntsman enough to risk pissing off Romney should he win.
