*side note - this was a joke my step grandmother (grandaddy remarried after nana died) told me many years ago - she was from Dallas

turns out there may be some truth to it...

Car right behind Kennedy. I guess things have changed, but it is now standard practice that other than political conventions, that when the President is out of town they do not want the VP in the same city, in fact they would rather the VP to be in and around DC
