What percent of the Republican electorate do we think stand behind the 20 here?

Is it the roughy 10% commensurate to their House representation or something greater? How much if greater?

I'd say 5-15% are true believers.

But don’t know if that answers the question.

I’m not sure I’d put a higher percentage than that as “true believers” for ANYTHING.

WAAAAAAY more than people think. Fox today was starting to acknowledge this. Martha was saying on Outnumbered that she was getting texts that were 2-1 from people in FAVOR of these 20. The rest of the cast weren't disputing it either...

Start with all Dems, because they find it entertaining, so baseline of 55%.

Among GOP voters? 10-15%

Overall, call it 65-70%

EDIT:
Reference is to GOP voters in GENERAL election. Percentage is higher among primary voters.

"True believers" = the population I thought you were asking about in OP

There are probably more people who enjoy the charade going on from a trolling/oppositional position, but, ultimately, want a "GOPe" person as SOH and understand "the 20" are an extreme minority

Not even close. The 20 are exactly what Republican voters are voting for.

I would think close to 60-65% have values inline with these 20 patriots

Rasmussen polling suggests greater than 50% of actual republicans do not want McCarthy

quote:

"Kevin McCarthy is currently the leader of Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives. Should Republicans choose Kevin McCarthy to be the next Speaker of the House?" - REPUBLICANS ONLY - Yes: 48% No: 29% Not Sure: 23%
.

Rasmussen

(This is even though Sean Hannity is speed dial voting yes like on American Idol)

So your contention is, the vast majority of Republican voters nationwide favor the “GOPe” in its current incarnation? That doesn’t seem to jibe with how most of these people campaign.

The establishment GOP are not what the country wants - these 20 represent the vast majority of GOP voters.

When you have a conservative party and only 20 members are conservative you have a huge problem

Depends.

GOP Primary voters? I agree with you.
GOP General Election voters? SFP is correct.
