Because it is important going forward to make certain it is never forgotten that the GOP nominated and elected a president who incited a coup....and 140 + of his minions voted in support of that coup after a crew of mall cops put the attempt down. It will provide further evidence of the support the coup has among elected GOP leaders....and will serve the Democrats well for the foreseeable future.

Because something happened on the Thursday morning once they went into recess. The impeachment doesn't really do anything as he isn't running in 2024.

This is the way the elites react when THEIR home is breached.
Where was this concern and angst as businesses were being torched, looted, when officers were being beaten, locked in their precincts and the buildings set on fire, and citizens beaten and murdered ?
ZERO concern for the citizens, but 28,000 troops for a non existent threat for them.
