Unfortunately no.

As wise as the Founders were, this feels like an oversight...though maybe there's a solid reason for not including a mechanism there to do it that I can't see myself.

Obviously, Senators were not directly elected by the voters at first, but there is no way to recall house members either...

Untouchable. We need to give him a nickname and we need to make his life miserable. That's it. That's all good citizens can do against Ruling Class tyranny.

He can’t be recalled . But republicans in Louisiana can force him to retire if they stick together and threaten to vote out all US congressmen in 2022. The only way to get him out till re-election is to have the party force him out .

There is no procedure unfortunately.

Our alternative was this weirdo or a B List version of Warnock.

We’re stuck with the weirdo for 6 years. He can’t quit bc then we would be stuck with whatever Demarxist JBE would appoint.

Seriously. frick Bill Cassidy with a cactus. He’s the Jeff Flake of John McCains and he’s useless. This vote gained his state nothing, attempted to validate a procedure contrary to every item in the Bill of Rights and each Article in the Constitution- and for good measure he slapped his constituency in the face.

We may as well have put that fricking communist Shreveport carpetbagger in there. Would have been no different.

The only good news here is that I think that the Louisiana GOP is livid.

If they censure that sack of shite, he probably won’t retire - he’ll probably just change to Democrat or something.

What a worthless sack of shite he is

The founders devised of a system where the senators were appointed by state governments and were actually there to represent the states, not the citizens of the state, in the senate.

While Woodrow Wilson was fricking everything else up, he got this amendment passed.

Frankly, the way the founders envisioned it- at least our legislature could have technically recalled him.

I’m so disgusted

Forget it. Only the Senate can expel him and of course that is not going to happen. He is immune from political pressure because he just got elected to another 6 year term. Hence the vote.
