The whole smear of Trump by the Democrats is all based on Congress, The Judicial Branch, and the Supreme Court.

The Dems fear Trump will be re-elected. They need to stop the tide of Conservative Judges. Only 2 ways to stop it.

1 Remove Trump ( Not going to happen since he isn't guilty of anything)
2 Take back the Senate( They only need 3 seats to switch to dem, to control the Senate)

There are 10 more republican Senators than Democrats up for election in 2020.
By using the Impeachment Trial and getting their media lapdogs to continue to pound against the Republican Senators, they think it is the easiest way to take back control.

They'll lose the Jones (D) Senate seat in AL.

Dang! You solved it. No one has thought of any of that.

True to a certain extent, but I wouldn't give 'em too much credit. Their top motivator is hate and jealousy. On a very unsophisticated level at that.

Not so sure about that. Once again the Pubs seem to have trouble finding candidates that motivate people to go to the polls.

Doug Jones will lose his Alabama seat, so they really need 4. However, we still have to deal with the damn Utah rinos.

I dont understand this logic. If I am a GOP senator, and have backed Trump, Id bet I get even more votes this cycle than I did the last time I ran.

By the same token, I hear there are 31 house seats that are currently dem that Trump won. But there are probably another 10 or 12 he will win this cycle which means there arent 31 vulnerable seats but closter to 40 or more.

I'm thoroughly convinced that unless some new actual and real Trump bombshell surfaces between now and November, there is going to be shock as to the gains Trump/Republicans will make over 2016 and 2018.

And to anyone who'd get cute and request a "link" on that....not interested in answering. Because I'm going by common sense and intuition given all available and relevant observations. Thoroughly convinced.

I believe the Dims have the Trump supporters ready to flock to voting booths. Jones may can help himself by backing Trump but that could lose him some Dims.

Tubs called off the dogs in the sack game so you have to give him that, if he gets the nod.

I like Byrne, first rate politician & candidate, and the correct choice for the job. But does he have the name recognition outside of south Alabama to pull it off, granted he'll benefit greatly from the straight-ticket vote?

The impeachment trial.

If the Red State Senators (not this board) come across as being as locked in goose step as they do today, it could unite the blue voters more than anything the President ever has done, and if they don't stay in unison the red voters will rebel. The witness debate is the real key to how this plays out as some toss up seats need a little wiggle room back home.

Either way the makeup of the Senate is in a toss up and claiming democratic conspiracy as a defense is a loosing tactic at best. Yep, just my opinion. But it's the same I held with her not being electable and him being as pernicious liar. Some things are obvious once you step back from being an active participant.

The problem with them taking over the Senate is that this is a presidential year. There are TONS of people who only vote when the presidency is at stake. Who has the coattails? Trump or the random socialist?
Without a charismatic choice for President the Dems are gonna be hard pressed to get out the vote just to win a local Senate election.

Agree, and the spineless Republicans will refuse to use that power to legislate and sign why the American people voted them in.

This has been the case for some time but the time is right for the democrats to throw all caution to the wind and start to ram every piece of desired legislation and social fabric change through to law. They need a few senate seats and the presidency. They can feel it and they are not gonna stop. And if they do win they will ram it through. I'll bet they do away with the legislative filibuster in the senate if they take it back.

As of today yes GOP gets Alabama debate but they lose Colorado (Gardner).

McSally will also lose her seat. AZ will have fricking Den senators.

McSally is a terrible candidate, she's losing in every poll, and is compwtlwly being out fundraised.

GOP will have just a 2 seat lead. I expect them to take a few house seats but the Dems will remain in control.

Nobody is talking about it right now but McSally is a fricking joke of a candidate she's going to lose twice in less than 2 yrs.
