The fact is most people don’t know anything about politics on any level outside of the Presidency. The R’s will do well in the 2022 elections largely because people now equate conservatives or Republicans with Trump. What happens when Trump decides not to run again or be involved significantly? And all of the new Republican supporters that base their views on Facebook memes hear someone like Ted Cruz speak about things like how abortion should be illegal, should have higher incarceration rates, should teach an alternative to evolution in classrooms, intervene in other countries to make them “safe for democracy “ etc? The answer is the new found support will crumble fast.

Don't know, don't care. Dropped that weak arse party after they failed to do anything to prevent the steal in 2020.

Should have dropped them way before 2020. Trump went against so many traditional Republican platforms and longtime stances. He was essentially against free trade, didn’t give a shite about abortion, didn’t give a shite about religion, didn’t want to intervene in other countries militarily, etc. These are not mainstream Republican ideals in the slightest. Some people weren’t born in 2016.

Exactly what you've seen from them this past year. A whole lot of impotence.

In this thread, sabes que tries to imagine an environment in which Democrat messaging wins.

They will be good for a while, but eventually and gradually decline in power.

Do most Republicans support laws that restrict abortion, incarcerate more people, have a want to be the world police, teach an alternative to evolution in schools? Hint.. they do, and these things are overwhelming not popular at a national level.

You’re so fricking stupid you don’t even realize you’re repeating messaging as fact.

I was a lifelong Republican, but dumped them in the 2016 primary when the entire establishment GOP turned on Trump. I am still and will always be conservative, but I'm now a registered independent. I simply don't identify with the establishment GOP anymore.

That’s good but if you vote GOP anyway what’s the point of all the fluff?

So you disagree that most R’s support those things?

If it could actually win, I'd be all for the Constitution Party becoming mainstream. Or Libertarian Party. Any party that wants to shrink the federal government to almost nothing, I am for.

Realistically, I'll probably just say frick them all as neither one of the two major parties have any interest in me or mine. I wouldn't piss on a politician from D.C. if he or she were on fire.

Think of the uniparty as the bones in the lower leg. The democrat is the tibia and the republican is the fibula. It's a lot easier to heal a broken tibia. A broken fibula will cripple you.

One is not obligated to support either one of the mainstream parties nor their beliefs. The “lesser of two evil” thing is bullshite. No one should be prodded to support people who don’t represent their beliefs based off fear mongering that the other side will not support their beliefs either.
