Costs these border jumpers a lot of time, effort and money just to get passage permission/guidance from the cartels. After maybe the second time of getting caught and sent back (for those who didn't learn the first time) most will give up. Not worth it.
Those who continue to not learn? Continue to catch, detain and subsequently deport. That's why we have Border Patrol officers.
The "send them to Canada" part of my scenario was basically in jest. Canadians will lecture us about our southern border and "strict" immigration policies to no end... but their own southern border is more secure than ours, and their immigration and even visitation policies are far more draconian than anything on the books in the US. If we tried to send busses of Mexicans and Guacamoleans across their border, those busses would be met by Canadian armed forces, 100%. They don't want uneducated immigrants who have nothing to offer their country except for more tax burden... they just won't say that out loud.

Pure political theatre. The majority are still being placed by flight.
Wonder what the cost just to place them around the country is?
$5-10 billion easily for the last year in flights alone I would guess.
Drop in the bucket compared to the government assistance they are allowed and given. Ah hell it doesn’t matter, if it means we give just one immigrant the chance we owe them, it’s worth it.
