Does it just mean they disapprove of his actions or they will endorse a primary challenge in future?

It’s just a formal rebuke. It has no teeth. It’s just making known that the party does not condone or support the Senator’s actions. However, with no legal recourse to recall a sitting senator, it’s really just a formality.

I do hereby declare that your actions have offended your ranking party overlords.

Remember, you are comprised. Can we count on you when the time comes? I hope so, for your own sake.

It's like saying 'Bad dog. No treats for you today.'

I once heard it was like being suspended from the Jelly of the Month Club.

I would rather be censured than told to stand in the corner for 3 min

Absolutely nothing. Censure is something organizations and formal bodies do so that they can pat themselves on the back and say they did something.

A strong letter of disapproval is put in the permanent file.

Maybe nothing as to removal, but they can reappoint him to meaningless committees and prevent him from ever chairing a committee -- thus rendering him rather useless.

Honestly, censure doesn't mean much less than a Presidential impeachment at this point, given how watered down and meaningless impeachment is to at least half the country now because of the abusive exploitation of it by the left. Censure may even grab more attention simply due to uncertainty and curiosity as to what it's all about.
