quote:

One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.

Reason, not societal-bending nonsense like pretending that being trans is normal or that "privilege" (or other gotcha-term) is the most important point of any socio-political discussion.

quote:

The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.

If institutions become corrupt, then they shouldn't be given the respect as if they were unbiased. If institutions respond to this by increasing their power over citizens unjustly, then actual rebellion becomes viable and proper.

quote:

One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.

No more vaccine mandates or similar mandates "for the greater good".

quote:

The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own.

If you get offended, that's your fault. It's not the fault of the speaker, unless he/she was targeting you for an intentional attack. Even then, it's only words. Sticks and stones and what not.

quote:

Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs.

No more politicized "science", like with global warming or CV19/vaccines.

quote:

People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.

Pretty self explanatory. As my dad used to say, if you point a finger at someone, you'll have 3 fingers pointing right back at you. Or we can look to the Bible: “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.”

quote:

Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

This is similar to the "institutions" comment above. Humans are fallible and our work product is also imperfect. Relying on this imperfection as a religion is foolish. There are aspects of natural law that rise above corruptible and imperfect human systems and laws.

A daily guide to living was published 2000 years ago that still holds up pretty well today.

Stick with that and you'll be good.

I think why do we need to rewrite things that have worked for centuries? Just live and let live.

I know how people perceive me on this board but IRL I just truly only worry about something if it directly effects me, my family, my business, or my friends. Other than that I only worry about what goes on in between my 4 walls.

That's not to say I don't get upset about things I'm morally against but overall if you just keep to yourself and don't bother me and we're cool.

My only daily living guide is biblical Scripture.

Anything proceeding from the mind of man is necessarily arbitrary at its root. The Word of God contained in the scriptures of the old and new testaments are God-breathed and thus necessary and good for man to adhere to.

Ah man that is just a club of free thinkers, they don't really worship Satan...

This putz is doing Satan's bidding and thinks it is cool and edgy...

Too focused on the source and not the points, themselves.

E
Almost every thread he starts is now a gotcha troll. When you call him out, he plays dumb. He's going back to his troll shtick from years ago.

Turned?

This is like the 4th or 5th time I've made a version of this thread over 10+ years.

Yes this was not one of the more serious threads I've made on here.

There are threads that are better suited to discussion and some that are better suited to teaching. This is the latter.

Not really. Pointing out illogic and hypocrisy in a funny way (like my "globalism" thread from last week) isn't a troll or gotcha.

It's just done in a fun manner.

You can church up the term "trolling" any way you like, Jake.
