For all intents and purposes, it already is decriminalized.

I disagree with you assessment. I know a LOT of people who smoke, every single one of them is a Trump supporter and votes.

It's one of those issues that would not cause me to change my vote on a presidential level, but at a more local level it might (depending on the candidate)

Like Hell. It's already legal where I live and I'm voting for Trump. They should definitely decriminalize it...even though it won't affect me personally, either way.

You'd be surprised who smokes weed...and votes.

Joe's had 47 years to do something about it. And Cameltoe has had several years in the Senate herself.

Zip, zero, nada.

Cameltoe spent years prosecuting and incarcerating potheads using the laws authored and voted upon by Joe and only as a presidential candidate has she regretted any of it.

Joe just regrets talk about pot cuts into his pudding eating.

Complete and utter nonsense. It’s not heroin. Do people that consume alcohol vote? You are extremely out of touch. Weed is by no means limited to the left. I smoke and I think the left is 100% bonkers insane. Not everyone that votes trump is voting FOR him. Many are voting AGAINST so much more and I will vote accordingly.

It has already been essentially decriminalized for personal use throughout most of the country.

Not really. It's legal in 11 states, decriminalized in another 12. That's not even half of the country. It's completely illegal in 8 states. And then you have states like Louisiana where it is "medical" but virtually impossible to get. If the federal government removed it from the schedule, then these lagging states might actually stop wasting money on it.

Make it legal and tax the shite out of it.

If you tax the shite out of it to where it is more expensive than black market weed, you lose one of the biggest advantages to legalization, cutting down profits for criminals.

It doesn't matter if they make it legal on a federal level, if your state wants to keep it illegal on a local level. Any state can handle it just like Colorado.
Think of it like gambling. It really comes down to state and local laws. Just because a thing is legal federally, doesn't mean it will be allowed everywhere.
Voters would still have to solve the issue locally. It would be similar to when prohibition ended, but instead of wet/dry areas, you would have smoke/no smoke areas. There are still lots of dry places, even after 80 years.

This. Hopefully he’s a lurker of the poli board and gets the message.

If these people vote for Biden, then they are already high when they make that choice. Nothing about Biden screams smaller government. His nation wide mask mandate both crushes any semblance of both small govt and your choice of your own body.

Trump has always said put the legalization bill on his desk, and he'd sign it.

I thought Trump was talking about legalizing it a couple of years ago?
