Kansas brought this to a referendum-- this is how our democracy should work.

I can assure the results of a popular vote on this issue in Texas would have ended with a similar result. Instead of a popular referendum, Texans for choice will choose to oust Abbott, Dan Patrick, Ken Paxton and whatever other statewide incumbents who support the state's draconian restrictions.

Nothing more draconian than child sacrifice, comrade.

Yes godliness is the bedrock of modern western civilization

Without it we are seeing the decline of it.

Women are the weaker vessel - it’s not fair to them to give them their own issue - they will screw it up

If you don’t think this is the hottest of buttons for women, check the turnout numbers compared to the 2020 primaries.

The GOP has used the Abortion issue to rally their base for 40 years, now the Democratic party get to do it.

Of course it is; they’re ruled by emotions. That’s why the left does so well with them.

I'm not familiar with that term. Does it mean something a progressive would say?

In which states?

Missouri had 370k Democrats show up.
In 2020, they had 635k.
In 2018, they had 600k.

Good deal this helps keep access for Oklahomans. Would have made the furthest clinic out in like Colorado or new Mexico.
Abortion is a travesty. You should be ashamed at your support of it.

This.

This echo chamber will only downvote.

Abortion = Guns to me. Being against abortion or gun control will get you some votes in carefully carved areas of voters. But if you actually try to or do something about it? It’s a loser. You piss off more people than you make happy.

Dumb take.

It's proof of how dumb and childish you left wingers hissy fit over the ruling was. This is a state that instead of being forced by an overreaching federal government to make abortion legal chose to do so on their own. As it should be.

Things would go a lot smoother if you left wingers would grow up

OW, “Do you trust the dimwits in the legislature to not trample your rights”

Answer: No, we do not.

Exactly. And that "no" vote is what won in Kansas. The correct vote for a pro-life win was "yes".

The bulk of national polling on the abortion issue for the last 25 years has always shown that a majority of Americans have favored abortion in some form. It's close, but the polls have averaged about 53% - 47% in favor of abortion.

and just FYI, as words have meaning, your title is the likely explanation.

What state has not kept abortion legal in some circumstances?
Answer = none.

Yet your OP incorrectly insinuates (akin to liberal media spin) that all abortion would be made illegal in KS. E.g., the media narrative "Kansas Votes to Preserve Abortion Rights Protections in Its Constitution."

I see it as more media disinformation and the GOP dropping the ball.

Another poster said a tone of money was spent on adds saying it would end abortions altogether.

Dems are great at this. Remember when you could keep your doctor?

Don’t care. It was handled at the state level, as it should be.

Kansas voting is getting outweighed by KC, Topeka, and Wichita. A lot of “urban” voters in those cities if you know what I mean.
