I guess their tax payer funded protests really are over

For transparency purposes they should release the video. If the police didn't do anything wrong they've got nothing to hide or be held accountable for.

Hey buddy, you didn’t answer my question earlier when you was crying about the Trump admin labeling anti-ICE protest as domestic terrorist.
Was it wrong for the Biden administration to label parents who protested at school boards as domestic terrorist or is that (d)ifferent?

‘We will shut Homewood down’ activists warn as they demand release of video of Jabari Peoples shooting
The shoot, as with most of these, was almost certainly defensible. But I never understand why anyone would think it's OK to withhold body cam footage. The whole damned point of body cams is to let the public see what happened.
Screw BLM but also, release the shite.

Lots of white flight has happened in the last 10-15 years.
That's not what I've seen. People are buying the older houses just for the lots they sit on. They pay $500K for the house and lot, demolish the old house and build a 1-2 million dollar house on it. My company has fabricated several stainless steel custom oven hoods for outdoor patios in that area. Not sure which part of Homewood you are talking about.

I wondered about this and looked it up. They are #1 with Huntsville and Auburn City 2nd and 3rd.

Yeah there is no white flight from Homewood. I was driving through some of the neighborhoods recently in Edgewood where my grandmother lived when I was growing up. Her house was about 1200 square feet 2 beds, one bath. Got tore down about 5 years ago for a 4500 monstrosity crammed into a tiny lot.

Of course it should eventually be released but there are valid reasons to hold it while the investigation is underway. Doesn't it make sense to get any witnesses on the record before they see the video?

BLM activist, LGBTQ reverend leading Homewood boycott once defrauded Florida church…
Whatever the final results of this investigation, the worst thing the family of Jabari Peoples could have done is allow the grifters in Burn Loot Murder to use this young man’s death as means for further aggrandizement of BLM’s corrupt agenda.

ALEA turned their investigation over to the Jefferson County DA’s office last Friday. Since no charges were filed against the Homewood officer, this was the expected outcome. Homewood should now release the video. .
Jabari Peoples shooting deemed 'justified'; Evidence shows he had gun in hand….
Jefferson County District Attorney Danny Carr confirmed what the Homewood Police Department had said all along, stating, "The officer attempted to place handcuffs on Mr. Peoples for officer safety. At that time Mr. Peoples began resisting and a tussle ensued. Mr. Peoples was subsequently able to escape from the custody of the officer. Mr. Peoples then ran back to his vehicle where he reached inside and grabbed a gun from the driver’s side of the vehicle."
"At the time of the shooting Mr. Peoples had the gun in his right hand and the officer fired one shot, hitting Mr. Peoples in the left side of the back causing injury that ultimately caused his death," he added.
Attorneys for the Peoples family held a press conference after the video viewing and encouraged media to fight for access to the video, saying that they still had questions and were not able to see all of the evidence in the case.
“I think a good kid made a terrible decision that cost him his life,” Carr reportedly told AL(dot)com on Wednesday, adding, “It’s sad for everyone involved but the facts and the law dictated the decision that was made, not emotions."

Yeah Homewood is a gentrification situation if anything.
I know people who like that area over Mountain Brook and Vestavia Hills due to the vibe over there.
