See my post about "preachers" calling themselves Reverend Dr. They're usually full of shite.
I asked Grok why one would do this and Grok responded “it works to get them a lot of trim”

You misspelled Hewitt-Trussville high school. HT is the only blue ribbon high school in the state.
I thought Skyline was the only Blue ribbon high school in Alabama not that that designation really means anything.

Article says he was college freshman studying Criminal Justice wanted to be a police detective. His family and the person in the car with him says he didn't have a gun.
quote:
"Peoples broke away from the officer and retrieved the handgun from the open driver's side door pocket, creating an immediate deadly threat to the officer," Homewood police said in a report. "The officer, fearing for his safety, fired one round from his service weapon to defend himself."
Peoples fell to the ground with the gun still in his hand and officers gave multiple verbal commands for him to release the gun, according to the police report.
The other person from the vehicle, who had run into the woods, began approaching and the officer called backup, police said. They were told to sit on the curb while the gun was removed and then they were taken into custody.
Seems like an open and shut case to me, I don't know why it would take a month to release the video. If he went back to the car and got a gun and it was still in his hand after he was shot, that's an easy call.

On June 23 at about 9:30 p.m., authorities said, a uniformed Homewood police officer approached Peoples as he sat in the driver’s seat of a parked car with a young woman, who advocates said was his girlfriend. The car was in a soccer complex parking lot when police said the unidentified officer caught a whiff of marijuana, and ordered Peoples and the woman out of the car. Police allege that a firearm was spotted in the car door and Peoples resisted arrest before the officer was knocked to the ground. “Mr. Peoples broke away from the officer and retrieved the handgun from the open driver’s side door pocket, creating an immediate deadly threat to the officer,” according to police. The officer fired one round “from his service weapon to defend himself, in accordance with Alabama state law,” authorities said. Police said Peoples fell to the ground while allegedly still holding a handgun. He died at a nearby hospital. As the officer called for backup, the woman fled into the woods, authorities said. She later returned to the scene after the shooting.
I never heard about this incident. I looked it up. This is for anyone like me.

Imagine being 7% of a population and committing 60% of the violent crime and still being so fricking entitled you complain the minute you feel you’ve been victimized.
For fricking fricks sake. Go away.

You didn't read the quote you responded to. Homewood is widely considered the top school system in the state of Alabama.
2025 Best School Districts
Hewitt was a Blue Ribbon school in 2020 but not since.
LAMP is probably the top High School in the state.
Best High Schools in the state
As for school systems, Homewood, Hoover, Madison, Vestavia and Auburn City Schools are generally always in the top 5 school systems in the state.
