The government is not dragging their feet. The normal process is not to release video of a shooting during the investigation, and typically they contact family and tell them that they will be the first to see it when the time is appropriate to release it.
Also, the police statement says the officer attempted to stop Mr People’s but he would not cooperate and got in physical struggle with the officer. The officer was knocked to the ground and Mr.Peoples retrieved a hand gun from the drivers side door, at this point the officer drew his gun and fired a single round.

My aunt and cousins live in Homewood. I lived with them for a few months and went to Homewood High post-Katrina. It was a great, safe little suburb from what I experienced and I haven't been back to visit in about 6 or 7 years, but it couldn't have gone downhill that quick... I sure hope not. I haven't heard about this incident, but I'll read up about it
