South Korea is well on its way in sliding out of its bell curve since the middle of March. Everyone is still working and schools are in session. How did they do this?

Telling people to sit at home for a month or two is not a solution. In such a scenario, no one is doing anything about the problem, but simply sitting at home watching the coronavirus numbers go up. Moreover, being idle at home is a recipe for moral and economic disaster. Such a lockdown is a breeding ground for domestic abuse, child abuse, alcoholism, drugs, suicides, and any manner of other troubles – including excessive internet viewership which is already an epidemic without the virus.
quote:
The most important virtue the South Koreans have demonstrated with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic is they did not panic. Neither is it a coincidence that South Korea has very strong Judeo-Christian values among the near-third of the population that profess Christianity, and has a great traditional respect for the elderly. It will not be saddled with a two trillion-dollar stimulus package coming out the other side of this.

The most important thing they did is doxxed their own citizens.
That would be a huge violation of our constitutional rights.

I would gladly trade American leaders for Korean ones. East Asia is the future.

Virtually everything the government is doing in relation to the Wuhan Flu has been grossly unconstitutional.

The East is on the rise as the West crumbles under the weight of it’s own degeneracy

And today we aren’t even capable of doing what they did, much less 12 weeks ago.

They also ALL wore masks in public. IMMEDIATELY.
"But muh liberties gonna be taken if I have to wear a mask!"

The US doesn’t have a constitution when it comes to a virus

Ok, so the secret is to “not panic”, be a Christian and care about the elderly and that will turn us around. Got it.

Can confirm.

Testing has got to catch up to the virus.
Then the American people have to be willing to make concessions about how we live until vaccines ar ready which could take a couple years.
Even then this is something we will have to live with.

SK is a virtual police state for people who test positive.Your name is published, you're monitored 24/7, your personal information (credit card transactions and locations)are seized by the govt without warrant. If you break containment somebody from the govt will come knocking on your door
You REALLY think that'll fly here?

You really think China is "on the rise" after this fiasco?

So what exactly do you call forcing people to shut their businesses down and sit their asses in their house?

Wow... I hope that was a joke.
The constitution protects our rights (or is supposed to), no matter what circumstances arise. Using your logic, all it takes is for you to get the flu, and the government can come take your house right out from underneath you. Because "The US doesn't have a constitution when it comes to a virus".
Let that thought marinate for a little bit, and try again.

Is this really an either/or situation?
Can't we have a targeted approach like Sweden or Japan and not have warrentless searches,24/7 monitoring and govt "agents" knocking on your door?

Yet it took an American leader to get involved with the two Korean leaders to drive the progress in relations between the two nations seen since 2017-2018.
