Why can’t Louisiana prosper like Texas when it comes to business?

Massive corruption at just about all levels of government.

Because Louisiana is one of the most corrupt states in America.

TEXAS does it right, and have for years....
LOUISIANA does it wrong, and have for years......

Because Louisiana always destroys anything that is prospering and over taxing it. Louisiana just can’t help itself.

The legacy of Huey Long still lingers.

Louisiana is only state with the Napoleonic legal code and thus has highest number of lawyers per capita in the country!c Too expensive to do corporate business in Louisiana!!
I am a Baton Rouge native who renumbers when Exxon (then ESSO) was headquartered there! The story of why they moved to Texas says it all as to Louisiana's lawyer problems!
Wonderful place to visit (in months with an R in them)....but not for a business to be headquartered in.

I left Louisiana. Even got my employer to pay me all expenses for selling my house, including real estate broker fees. In the 23 years since I left, I calculate I've probably earned close to $2 million more than I ever could have made in Louisiana, plus I met and married my wife, who earns nearly double what I do, and who has given me two great kids. Love to visit Louisiana and there are some great people there but it's a terrible business atmosphere.

Because none of these LA politicians are conservative no matter pro life, Army vet, goes to church, prays to Jesus in public, etc. and none of them gives a hot shite about anything but themselves.
Yet, drives of morons continue to fall for the bullshite.

We don’t have tort reform, and we have a lot of really good athletes.
