It is a joke. You pay $850,000—$1,200,000 for a 2500 sq ft house with no yard. Then the homeless are allowed to literally shite on your porch , driveway, sidewalk and steal anything they want from you so long as it’s less than $1000, without being arrested or otherwise punished. There are homeless tent cities, needles, feces and trash everywhere. Your state and local taxes or so high they push your overall tax rate to over 40%, despite the fact that garbage runs once a week and your are limited to a certain volume amount that you can the put in it. Also, your water is rationed under threat of arrest and prosecution. I am sure I missed a few high points, but these are the main ones.

Just imagine how bad their fears are going to ramp up once COVID-19 gets out amongst that group. Imagine then how bad the medical facilities will be swamped when they all shuffle to the nearest ones.
Now imagine your child getting sick or breaking an arm or leg and having to wade through all that.

They already have. Nevada and Colorado are lost. Collin County TX is more liberal than neighboring Denton County even though the latter has two liberal universities in its borders.

Austin has always been liberal. Granted not to the extent that it is now, but the city has been blue for as long as I can remember.
Californians are absolutely moving here in droves though. I work in TA for a software company here in Austin and the amount of applicants I get from California would shock you.
