Washington State Group Is 1st to Sue Fox News for Calling Coronavirus a ‘Hoax’

An obscure Washington state group has become the first in the nation to sue Fox News over its coronavirus coverage, asking a state court to keep the cable network from airing false information about the pandemic.
quote:
It seeks an injunction to prohibit the conservative-leaning outlet from “interfering with reasonable and necessary measures to contain the virus by publishing further false and deceptive content.”
quote:
The case, filed at 12:13 p.m. Thursday, has been assigned to Judge Ken Schubert — with no hearing date set. West said the defendants haven’t yet been formally served notice of the case.
Fox News interfered with social distancing measures, West said from the state first slammed by the virus.
“That’s the real evil of this type of programming,” West said. “We believe it delayed and interfered with a prompt and adequate response to this coronavirus pandemic within the state of Washington.”
West denied that the nonprofit group (with perhaps 30 associate members) was aiming to stifle First Amendment rights.
“It’s like the theater thing,” he said. “Up to the point where you get up in the theater and yell ‘Fire!’ you can say whatever you want. But when you get to the point where you are endangering the community — that transcends the limits of the First Amendment.”

Nobody in Washington watches Fox. This case is DOA.

Pathetic. What type of people sit around thinking about this shite? There's no way this sees court. It's not even close.

They might want to sue the Democrats for introducing the No Ban Bill after Trumps China travel ban. Thank God he didn’t get pressured by their BS.

They definitely are culpable in this They were taking their cues from Trump-backing him up with playing down the seriousness of what was coming. Then when it hit, they've tried to pivot. It's been humorous to watch some of them backtracking.

I find it very hard to understand any of this since it was a Fox News employee (Tucker Carlson) who convinced Trump to begin taking action against the virus.
And I also believe Greg Gutfeld was very much aboard the Wuhan Flu pain train back in January when everyone else was still focused on impeachment.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is real. And it's more dangerous than COVID

Toddy...if they are culpable than so is everyone else. No one saw this shite coming. No one. You had politicians and news media, from both sides, downplaying this all the way up until the final moments before it became obvious this was more than just a fad.

Is the WHO culpable? Is CNN culpable for saying the ban on flights from China was racist?

And is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez culpable for encouraging people to get out and eat at Chinese restaurants? Is the Director of Public Health for New York City culpable for encouraging people to gather en masse in Chinatown? Is Nancy Pelosi culpable for encouraging the citizens of San Francisco to join her in Chinatown?
How many lawsuits are we going to file against people and organizations before we realize everyone missed the boat on this? It wasn't just a failure of one news outlet or one political party. Literally everyone failed to predict this because, quite frankly, it was unpredictable.
If anyone deserves any blame it's China. This is their mess. They let it fester and refused to tell anyone the extent of the damage the virus was causing until it was already too late.

It's not my job. It's the job of intelligence and other specific groups within national security and health to warn and then inform and advise the White House. Are you saying these groups did not try to do that? Because they most definitely did.

Hahahaha. It's amazing that they've actually fooled people into believing this.

You have an ax to grind. Surprised you haven’t landed with CNN yet. Figured Lemon and Cooper would be willing to welcome you appropriately.

What does any of that have to do with Fox News?
