WaPo: (opinion) Clinton’s link to Putin is the underreported ‘dossier’ bombshell

There's a lot of really good details in the article that provides a solid backstory that are too long to post here. Good read.
quote:
The news that the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee paid for research used in the discredited Trump-Russia "dossier" is a bombshell. But even more shocking — and overlooked — is the revelation that the firm the Clinton campaign hired to compile that dossier, Fusion GPS, is the same firm that has been accused in recent congressional testimony of launching a smear campaign in Washington against Sergei Magnitsky, the Russian lawyer who was tortured and killed in a Russian prison in 2009 after uncovering a $230 million tax theft by 23 Kremlin-linked companies and individuals close to President Vladimir Putin.
quote:
Which raises the question no one seems to be asking: Why was Hillary Clinton using an opposition research company with Putin-linked clients to dig up dirt on Donald Trump?
quote:
Here's the bottom line: We have congressional testimony, under oath, that Clinton hired the same firm to smear Trump that Putin reportedly used to smear Magnitsky. Moreover, we also know that the Fusion GPS dossier relied on senior Russian government officials for much of the dirt it compiled, including "a senior Russian Foreign Ministry figure" and a "former top level intelligence officer still active in the Kremlin." Together, those are bombshell revelations.
quote:
Yet today, there is barely a peep in the mainstream media about the Clinton-Fusion-Putin connection. Imagine the outrage that would have ensued if we had learned that Trump had hired an opposition research firm with Putin-linked clients to dig up dirt on Clinton and that senior Russian government officials had been the sources of the unsubstantiated allegations that were leaked to the media. The left would be screaming, "Smoking gun!" None of this absolves the Trump campaign of collusion charges. But there is now more public evidence about Clinton's collusion with Russia than there is about any such collusion by Trump.

You do this to every non liberal slant article but never see you call out the writers of liberal opinion columns...Interesting.

You forgot to mention this is in the Opinion section aka not news.

Yeah.
So, not only do liberals refuse to even consider sources not named Washington Post, NYT or CNN, they refuse to even consider the few people within the above organizations that don't toe the editorial line.
And they bitch about Fox News!!

Honestly, for the WP, the Opinion Section starts on page 1. So, yeah. Technically true. This is the "opinion section" too.

Fake News, see how easy that is?

I would expect this is part of Mueller's investigation and there should be indictments on it. If not, then the fix is in and he should be fired.
But also, how come Sessions is not going after this 100%. I just don't get that Reps own all branches and they seem to not be able to go after any of these criminals.

Do you point out Liberal Op-Ed's too?
Whats your point then?

It continues to amaze me how posters here cannot understand that opinion pieces both aren't news and don't necessarily represent the views of the news organization.
Real news organizations run opinion pieces from people across the political spectrum with a wide range of positions

It's an OpEd but since the vast majority of WaPo's 'reporting' is just more editorial, it is allowed...

"Why won't the mainstream media push my talking points," whine columnists employed by mainstream media specifically for that purpose

I love the irony of these call outs towards conservatives
