We have 7 House seats up for grabs but all the talk is for the Governor. I'd imagine Walt has the Dem side locked up and the Republican side seems to be between Ivey and Battle.

Who are you voting for?

I'm down for Battle regardless that Ivey was a band-aid for the state after the removal
of Bentley.

Can any of the others on the ballot steal votes from Battle to shift it to Ivey. Plus we have a dead person on the ballot, to boot.

I'll vote for Chess but it will be all for naught, most likely.

I'm praying that Battle will get enough votes to force a runoff.

Voting for Battle. He actually has a record of accomplishment and I think the state needs someone who hasn’t been in state government forever. I just have no respect for Ivey considering she’s a lifelong politician who has only benefitted from being in the right place at the right time. She doesn’t deserve to be rewarded for being not-Bentley.

I think he can make it into a runoff. While she is the favorite, there isn’t any enthusiasm for Ivey. Her goal was to win it outright today and I don’t think that will happen unless turn out is just incredibly low.

The other races are a cluster. Some real retard fights going on.

Somebody remind me of the name of the douche with the commercial that goes "I'm a 6'7" former basketball player, so I know a thing or two about blocks"

I think he's running for some local Jefferson or Shelby County position

Jay Mitchell.

That guy has been involved in politics since he was a kid. Surprised it took him this long to finally run.

“Block Liberals” is one of the lamest slogans ever.

Just close your eyes and think of Jo Bennett and the pain is replaced with laughter.

Anybody who begins their political ad by listing their height needs a new campaign manager

Does anyone know her enough to know if she talks like that in real life? I never hear anyone talk with that old southern drawl like she has brought out for the campaign.

It's really sickening.

I think a vote for Battle is a vote for the Dem in the general. No one knows who the hell Tommy Battle is outside the greater Huntsville area. I just dont think Battle can turn out enough people in the general to win. It has a good chance of handing the Gov. to a Dim if Battle is the nominee.

No one knows Walt outside of April 27th.

One thing is for sure, there is about to be a ton of money dropped into Alabama on campaigns. I'm so thankful I don't watch regular TV anymore

I just know that I take nothing for granted anymore in this state anymore. I never thought Doug "planned parenthood" Jones had a real shot and he won. Granted, I think there was absolutely fraud in that case, but still.

If Battle can win the Primary, he won’t lose the General. My guess is that his strategy has been to make the runoff then bet that he’ll benefit once the spotlight is really on the race. Name ID won’t be a problem in November if he’s the nominee. You’ll see his signs all over the place and every sorority girl will have a Battle sticker on a football game in the Fall.

I think Ivey would actually be more vulnerable considering her age and the contrast compared to Maddox. I also think that if she continues to stay in a bubble, she won’t have a lot of wind in her sails in the Fall.

Either way, I don’t think the GOP is losing the Governor’s race unless something drastic happens. Neither are Roy Moore, who had always underperformed in the General Election because Republicans would cross-over to vote against him. Even with all of the headwinds, Moore still barely lost.
