It sounds like we've got some VA baws on here. Any other boards where things are discussed? Things being worked on?

The Republican nominee is from NOVA. That may help with the suburbs but idk. NOVA is exploding and it’s dominated by limousine liberals who are FAR insulated from the policies they sprinkle over less fortunate areas. Only once in like 50 years or something has a Virginia Gubernatorial candidate won as the same party as the sitting president. And that was terry McCauliffe who is the current D nominee when he was elected in 2013. He won by like 2 points. Northam won by something like 7 points in 2017.
With Trump out of the picture so to speak the suburban Karen’s may stop clutching their pearls so hard. This will be the first test to see if the suburbs have really gone as liberal as they’ve seemed or if they really just didn’t like DJT.
As recently as like 2017 republicans had a 2-1 majority in the house of delegates and slim control of the senate. In 2017 they lost 15 spots in one election then 5 in 2019. I don’t think this board sees how much the wine/soccer mom suburbanites which dominate places live NOVA really didn’t like donald trumps personality (whether that’s valid or not)
In 2009 the first year after Obama even though Virginia voted for him and 2 dem senators the year before a Republican won by 17 points. In 2013 under Obama a Democrat won after a pretty bad scandal by the R Governor AND with a libertarian running as a third party who got 6% of the vote and the D only won by 2 points. Had that libertarian not been there you’d think there’d have likely been back to back R governors.
2017 was Trumps first year and typically the party in power gets swamped in their next mid term. If the Dems win big I have to say it doesn’t look good going forward. If the gap at least closes that’s a little progress. If Virginia flips R that is a huge sign that the pressure is on for 2022 nationally.
It’ll be interesting for sure.

VA is a lost cause. Too many bureaucratic liberals in the north.

VA needs audited. All states need audited.

I sense no swing of the pendulum here in Richmond. McAuliffe is still entrenched.

Considering Trump won the state last year, things are looking good before Dominion counting begins.

I was in Fairfax County last weekend and saw a few Youngkin signs in yards.
I think Virginia could elect a Republican light Gov, kind of like Maryland.

Democrats will win, the Republican will just suck up a lot of cash that could be spent in another state where they have a chance. It's a waste of time and money for a Republican to run in VA.

Is Virginia the state where all the school board protests and recalls are happening across the suburbs due to CRT?

Yes and that is happening in NOVA too.
