It took nearly 40 minutes for residents of Hawaii to receive a second alert informing them that a ballistic missile was not incoming.

40 minutes.

This is a colossal frick up by Hawaiian authorities

LINK

Receiving a faulty warning is not a big deal. What IS a big deal is taking so long to address it

It should have taken 2 minutes max for a gov official to write a correction and send it to all Hawaiian phones

The whole idea that someone could have "simply pressed the wrong button" is ridiculous.

You say that but i would bet there is a procedure in place when that alert goes out that must be followed before any sort of all clear is given.

I mean, if a real nuke was coming, a storm drain isn’t the dumbest idea.

Can’t say I blame them.

Especially considering that even if the alert went out the second the missile was launched, they’d prob only have 20-25 minutes.

But why? How does not not damage national security? Keep in mind if that is what happened, pretty much all of the big players would know the truth, including China and Russia.

Whos to say they don't know the truth? I'm just saying it's not unrealistic for the government to keep us in the dark on something like that.

I don't know that I'm buying the "low-wage government employee hit the wrong button" explanation.

It's much more likely that a foreign entity hacked the system to gauge the military and civilian response.

It wasn't a frick up. It was a deliberate act.

Lol at people that think the Federal government handles a State’s emergency warning system.

Again....but why?

Why risk that leaking and it being revealed that the government lies to us?

Not saying they wouldn't, but you have to have a benefit to take such a risk.
