I notice the USPS lost $5.1 billion in 2014, $5.6 in 2015, $6.7 in 2017...anyone know how much that number has been effected by the USPS essentially shipping for Amazon for free?
I’m of the opinion if an agency like that isn’t self-sustaining it should be reformed or cease to exist. I’d like some input though on the subject seeing as how my research in this area is limited and biased.

It’s just your typical bloated government program. Why try to be fiscally responsible when the government will just bail you out

And they've ruined Amazon as well.

They lose that much money because of their ridiculous pensions and guaranteed money to employees. If they raised rates on Amazon, Amazon would just start using FedEx or UPS and USPS would lose even more money.

I once read that the USPS losing money was not due so much to its delivery system, but rather all the money tied up in its pensions

Bezos is part of the cabal problem. Plus I met an Amazon military recruiter and she lied about her duties and accomplishments in the military. She didn't stop to think I'd been in similar environments and would know she was full of shite.

I don't ever purchase from Amazon. No matter what.

Seems Trump could be sending veiled messages that USPS treatment of Amazon is preferential and that it should be halted or perhaps even inviting other businesses to sue based on that. Could be a problem for Amazon. Once you start shipping things at regular UPS or FEDEX rates, Amazon isn't such a bargain any more.

Anyone watching the CFB playoff and seeing these damn PC beer commercials for Modelo? Talking about an astronaut being a mexican immigrant and how, when you're working in the fields you can't tell where one country ends and another begins?

I hate this PC stuff. And I damn sure won't be drinking Modelo ever in my life.

ETA random vent

USPS loses money on regular mail delivery, not package delivery. The Postal Regulatory Commission sets stamp prices. That's where the blame really lies. I feel like so many people just don't understand how the postal service works.

That was a bizarre commercial, I mean why get all political to try and push your beer? These marketing departments are having a tough time learning a lesson.

Then why don’t they raise postage on mail, and cut the amount they pay postmen and their retirements?

Modelo is a Mexican beer. It’s called targeted advertising, you tool.

I had to file with Amazon with a package the USPS supposedly delivered to me on Saturday. If it was delivered, I do not know who/where it was delivered. Amazon sending replacement for free.

now is where you tell me what I’m missing about a Mexican beer catering to Mexican viewers. Unless for some reason you think they would spend precious advertising dollars to draw in a white consumer with a Mexican message of hope. Get over yourself.

Well if you think they're going after the Mexican market by running ads in the US, during a high white demographically viewed broadcast, simply because they're a Mexican beer, either you or they don't know about marketing.
