Nancy Pelosi has asked Trump to move the State of the Union address, per @FoxReports. “Sadly, given the security concerns and unless government re-opens this week, I suggest we work together to determine another suitable date after government has re-opened..."
Has this ever been done before? How will GEOTUS respond?
CNN went from Pelosi’s letter. To the SOTU being cancelled. To Trump cancelled it. To a full blown retraction of it being cancelled.

Trump could type up a letter and send it to Congress, which is the way it was done up until the last century when radio/television made it possible for the President to address the nation. There is no requirement for the President to address Congress personally.
