This is the link to the US state-level tracker that I have shared via Google Drive. Chromdome's State Level COVID-19 Daily Tracker

re: UPDATED: Daily COVID-19 Stats as of 6:00 PM CST 5/27/20 Final Numbers for the Day
New cases were down 10% from yesterday and 7.5% From last week. Testing was up 43K from yesterday and 29K from last week. The % positive was only 5.8% vs yesterday and last weeks 7%.

Deaths down as well, 20% from yesterday and 15% from last week.

Mortality is ticking down but still at 5.9X%

The 7 days rolling average both show downward trends with the average death curve downward turn increasing in slope.

These next two graphics are a flow chart of the steps the new tracker goes through to update the data, for those who are interested in such things.

I’ve been reading this thread since day 1 and just want to say this is the best thread on the WWW I’ve seen for tracking this virus .
Just want to say thanks to chrome for all the hard work.

We should all throw him a $20 when this is all over for all the hard work.

I saw that yesterday...that aligns pretty well with the number I am calculating on my tracker on the case load required tab.

Looks like we’re going to stay in triple digits for fatalities today. That will really help drive down the 7 day average.

Only one state reporting over 100 deaths. No other states over 75.

~350k tests. ~18k new cases.
5.1% positive

Alabama’s percent of tests positive has increased.

Look for the central alabama region to be a hotbed for the next 2 weeks or so.

318 on vents. Up 8% over last Sunday. Which was up ~5% over the week before.

Hospitalizations up 14% on a week. 12% the week before that.

Y’all are probably playing some borrowing/renting games with vents. ICU capacity for the state is listed at 475 for IHME. There’s currently 539 in ICU according to the state.

Surprised this isn’t getting more play nationally.

I'm sure it will. There's no way that remains out of the national news. Too much fodder.

Could be our lowest fatality day since March.

This will likely be a different week reporting wise with the holiday. I somewhat anticipate a relatively low count tomorrow and the usual Tuesday “spike” being on Wednesday.

re: UPDATED: Daily COVID-19 Stats as of 6:00 PM CST 5/27/20 Final Numbers for the Day
Nice downward movement in Cases and Deaths today. Is it due to the holiday weekend? I think it is safe to assume it is at least partially to blame.

Cases down 9.8% from yesterday and 1.4% week over week, deaths down 40% from yesterday, and 28.7% week over week.

Mortality fell below 5.9% for the first time in several weeks and is now sitting at 5.89%

The testing volume was 379K with a positive rate of 5.5%.

The 7 day rolling average for cases is still flat while the 7-day rolling deaths continue to decline much faster.

The holiday question is a good one. Looking back to April, am I correct in saying that Easter Sunday, while low, wasn’t notably low for a Sunday during that period?

If that’s accurate it gives me hope that the low death number today isn’t too much caused by the holiday weekend.

This is a screen cap from the new tracker I'm building. This tab will allow you to chose a starting date and a data point (new Cases, new Deaths, Total Cases, Total Deaths, 7Day Average New Cases, etc...) and it will display this view of the data.

I am still building, but it's all starting to come together behind the scenes.
