If we’re under 2000, it’s still a win. We’ll be under 1000 for the last 4 days (I think).

These are the tabs currently available on the tracker:

US Tab: This shows data for the US. You cannot change anything on this tab.

State Tab: This shows data for the selected state. You can change the State by clicking on cell B1 and selecting a different state via the dropdown. It will take about 30 seconds to update. you can also select the date which will change the starting point for the graphs. 3/15/20 is a good starting date as there isn't much data before that time.

By Capita Tab: This shows a comparison of states by capita for a given day. You can select the date in cell A2 and the data element you want to view in cell B2. After a few seconds, the chart will update.

Heat Map Tab: This allows you to pick a starting date and a data element to view. You can also select a state in cell B6 that you can use to compare to the cells below. The colors are based on the data range for each state. This means that for a given state, whichever days have the highest values will be the most red. The scale is state dependant which means that for Arkansas the highest day might be 100 cases and it will be red while for NY, red might be 2000 cases. It's all relative to each state.

Control Tab: This tab is used by the various formulas to populate the various dropdowns and as a reference for the sheets formulas to refer to.

COVIDData Tab: This tab contains 1 row for each state for each day. The data for the US is here as well with the US appearing as another state in the table. On the control tab, you'll see a data definition of the table on the COVIDData tab. If you want to do your own analysis, you can pull the data out of this tab for your own use.

WoMUSData Tab: This tab uses the google sheets importhtml function to screen scrape the WoM site for the number of new cases and deaths for the day. This data is then displayed on the top row of the tracker so the viewer will have an idea of how today is trending. You can compare these 2 numbers to the Previous day's columns in cells C8 and C11.

Correct. For the three day weekend, we were at right around 1,900 deaths. It would take 2,100 to get to a 4 day average of 1,000.

Also of note, yesterday was the first non holiday weekday since March 30 that we were below 1000 deaths.

I finally got screen scraping to work so I could pull some numbers from the WoM site. I made the header of the tracker look like this

This shows you New Cases and Deaths for the day from WoM along with a comparison to the previous day which shows as Down or UP X from the previous day.

I also added a WoM States reporting so we could see how many states currently have reported numbers on the WoM site. Just because a state has updated, doesn't mean they won't update again during the day. Florida, Georgia and NY all seem to update more than once a day.

The screen scrape runs once an hour on the hour.

New Cases up today by 2.3K over yesterday but down 2.7K from last Wednesday. Deaths came in at 1.2K which is a WIN by any standard. After three consecutive days of 602 average deaths, we expected to see a bump today. The fact that deaths are 143 down from last Wednesday which wasn't impacted by a three-day slump is a great sign.

Testing was down to 285K today, we are seeing a fairly rapid decline in the number of tests, I wonder if that is caused by a lack of people to test?

The % positive rate was up to 6.51% a 1.2% increase over yesterday and 1.3% above last Wednesday's 405K tests.

Mortality remains at 5.6% where its been since 5/7.

The CDC has been trying to get states to break out infection and serologic tests, so it’s possible that some of the decrease is due to the removal of antibody tests.

Getting it down below 1000 deaths very soon, if not today on the 7 day roll is a big deal. Especially the way it is dropping, I think this is all gonna be over sooner than expected.

It's warmer out now. fewer people will need testing as the summer progresses. Finding an asymptomatic positive is pretty pointless anyways.

I've come to the conclusion this is basically lung herpes with the exception it doesnt recur.

A lot of people get it and dont know they have it. They may never know they had it. Some people get it and have horrible debilitating outbreaks.

You don't routinely test for herpes for that reason. You dont want to know if you're positive "just to know" because of the stigma associated with it.
