Update: national debt more than $1 trillion larger than just 6 months ago

'Member when Trump had supposedly lowered the debt by $100 billion? I 'member.
Them days are over I guess; now we're reckoning with having spent half of the last year under "extraordinary measures" to avoid the debt ceiling. Hopefully the economy really starts roaring.

Trump is planning to write an executive order at the end of his presidency that all debts are canceled

We are fricked but we have known this was coming.
Trump was never interested in this in his campaign and both parties seem to be in a race to outspend each other when they are in power.
Pathetic and the chickens will come home to roost.

Dude. You didn't get the memo? People around here don't care about deficits anymore. You'll have to wait till a democrat is back in office for it to matter on this board again.

steady deficits, with the Treasury doing their Extraordinary Measures to avoid the debt ceiling
a great deal of it was draining cash on hand, for example. also some stuff akin to interfund borrowing from funds that had cash balances to fund deficits that would need to be repaid when the ceiling was lifted again

Got to get a hold of the debt and deficit, and I hope we can grow ourselves out of it, but I doubt any party will ever make it a priority, unfortunately..Obama lovers, though, can’t talk any shite, here, though, cause he’s the leader of both, in the clubhouse....
