I suspect the fact she was an undgrad at a staunchly traditional Catholic college like the University of Dallas had a lot to do with the rejection as well. A strong emphasis on the Bible and other great books of Western Civilization as well.

Anyone care to wager on whether or not the "qualifications" for the internship were abundantly clear to the applicant, but she applied anyway knowing she'd be rejected trying to become a story?
