"Twitter is a private business, they can do what they want"

Why doesn't this apply to the many small businesses that were forced to close?
Posted on 1/9/21 at 8:18 pm to momentoftruth87
Or to bakeries? Or to lunch counters?

The masked Covidians won’t take kindly to this

I think it’s a little more complicated than that for Twitter and other big social media.

Since you "think" that, I guess that's the end all be all.

They sure as shite are a publisher rather than a platform.
Having that carve out for them is officially farcical now.
never noticed that "farcical" is a funny looking word, might be good for hangman

Was not complicated when they demanded Parler institute censorship to thoughts from the right.
They tipped their hand on that one. The mask is off. The gloves are off.

People who simply view many of us as Trump-or-die folks came with this as the “argument winner of the day”. It’s all over social media and I have only one social media account. I can only imagine what FB looks like today.

Find that distinction in the law or jurisprudence and post it. For once try to actually argue a point and back it up.

Well that’s true. I don’t have an answer.
What I was trying to say is that social media may have assumed such a large role in speech that they can’t act as freely as ordinary private business.
It was a barely baked thought at the time. It’s still only half baked.
