Turd Sandwich or Transformational?

There is a tentative agreement to raise the debt limit. Chip Roy called the agreement a "turd sandwich" while Kevin McCarthy called it "transformational". What do you think? Upvote for turd sandwich. Down vote for transformational.

C) a transformational turd sandwich

Kevin get in there and make me a turd sandwich!

Kevin has already cooked you up a enormous turd sandwich. He is getting ready for his servants to deliver it to your table.

Another progressive word that means nothing.

Transformational if the end game is “fundamental change” I suppose.
True conservatism is hanging by a thread in this country.
It’s primarily been Dem or Dem Lite most of this present century.

Kevin would ask if you want a Bud Light with that.

Turd sandwich because that's what it is.
Transformational because we're watching the Republicans transform into dems in real-time.

Massive turd sandwich. This fricking thing allows for 2022 level spending (for those playing the home game, that's $1.375T, one of the highest deficits on record even when accounting for inflation).
We are now servicing more debt with higher rates than we have ever had. CBO projections are that at the current rate (which McCarthy seems to be guaranteeing), we should see annual debt servicing eclipse both defense and Medicaid spending.
Let me say that agian: Debt. Servicing. Not paying DOWN the debt, just paying the interest on it will be the 2nd largest single cost to the federal government (behind Social Security).
There's no coming back from that. None. Default will be a matter of when, not if.
What this is likely to mean is that as we get closer to that point, we'll see more and more members of Congress buying into MMT. They won't buy into it because they think it will work, they'll buy into it because they will be desperate to believe it will. They'll push it to voters as a magic pill that will simply fix everything (or shot, if you want to use COVID fear as an example) and anyone not buying into it is an enemy of democracy.
Does that sound doomy and gloomy? Tell me why it won't go down that way.

Some things known about McCarthy before the Speaker's race:
He was known as "Pelosi Light" on Capitol Hill.
McCarthy wanted social media to censor more people from his own party.
For Big Tech, McCarthy is “their top advocate among congressional Republicans.”
McCarthy’s antagonism toward the Big Tech companies is nothing more than political messaging. “McCarthy is reflecting what his caucus does to fundraise and motivate base voters,”
Frederic Barnes is a lobbyist at TikTok who worked for McCarthy. George Caram…senior legislative assistant…now represents Apple. Brian Worth, former director of coalitions for McCarthy, lobbies for Amazon and Wing... Jeff Miller, a political adviser to McCarthy, also represents Apple and Amazon.
When POLITICO asked Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.), the Republican leading that bipartisan antitrust push, about his thoughts on McCarthy’s anti-Big Tech rhetoric, Buck replied with a question of his own: “He’s anti-Big Tech?”
About the Jan 6 tapes, after becoming Speaker:
“I promised,” McCarthy told The New York Times on Wednesday. “I was asked in the press about these tapes, and I said they do belong to the American public. I think sunshine lets everybody make their own judgment.”
“Kevin McCarthy told us he’s going to get the evidence out in front of the American people, and that means releasing the 14,000 hours of tapes that have been hidden, that I think would give more full context of that day,” Gaetz said on “The Charlie Kirk Show” in January. “Part of this deal is a concession that we are going to get the truth out in front of the American people.”
“…put them online. Release them to the public directly so the rest of us can finally know what actually happened on January 6, 2021.” Tucker Carlson
What I cautioned people about way before the Speaker election:
McCarthy will deliver nothing but the status quo if he’s elected Speaker.

You were right. He is definitely not a true conservative.

At some point someone has to have the balls to take the CC away from the children. If that means defaulting, so be it.
