Haven't seen much on this?

Here is an example: Mississippi has 3 income tax levels: 3, 4 and 5%. The Republicans in Mississippi have eliminated the 3% tax on the first $5000, so everyone, even the riches and the poors, will save $150. per year.

All I want to "get" is less debt so that I can pass a functional country to my children and grandchildren.

At some point some poor saps are going to have to pay the bill the POS baby boomers ran up.

I just want a system that is more transparent. We should be able to do our taxes on a postcard without the help of a professional.

Tax transprency should reduce the bloat in the government systems as well as force the millions of intelligent accountants to use their brains for more productive things in society.

I'm expecting to pay a little more if they reduce the number of brackets but I'm okay with it if things gets simplified.

For the record, I support plans such as the Fair Tax or a flat tax for the simplicity. I also recognize a simple system of deductions is required to offset some of the regressive nature of those plans.

Pretty much everyones taxes are going down but easily the largest cuts go to people making over 400k:

LINK

Its important to note that this is only the brackets. It does not address the increased standard deductions etc.

That ain't the path to prosperity my friend...the path to prosperity is to cut taxes and increase taxes...which is exactly Trump's economic plan in a nutshell...it is the same plan Reagan used and y'all loved it then and you are gonna love it now....debts and deficits be damned.

And Trump is the perfect person to do it because he has proven beyond all doubt that creditors have to loan money...it is the same as a carpenter having to drive nails to eat...creditors must lend money to eat. Trump has fricked over lenders in the past and they have begged to continue to do business with him...and they will beg just as hard to loan money to us because who the hell are they going to loan it to with the certainty that it will be repaid at some point? Seriously...where are all of the lenders going to go if we no longer have the biggest stick on the playground? Oh, they will pound their chests and squall like mashed kitties but at the end of the day they are no different than the banks that Trump bankrupted against coming back to him in hours begging to lend him more money on other projects.

This is the biggest appeal of Trump being elected in my mind...Trump understands the mind of the money lender...he isn't one of them and he isn't in their pocket....he and his kind are the source of their income whereas most politicians have lenders as a major source of their income. This is something that most consumers do not understand....you are doing a bank or a lender a favor borrowing money from them, not the other way around. Foreign investors who loan us money are no different than the credit manager at Best Buy....they all had better find folks to loan money to are they will be out of a job....Trump understands this and has done it what, 4 times??? when a lender or group of lenders didn't do what he needed them to do...and those same lenders were lined up in hours to partner with him on other projects...because they need to eat like everyone.

It should be automatic in most instances...unless something changes, like having another baby or something it should simply be that the IRS sends you a statement explaining how they came to the conclusion that this is what you owed for the year, this is what you paid and this is what you owe or are due in a refund. If the figures are wrong or you had something happen during the year that effected you liability then you'd have to file an amended "return" but most individual returns never change. Business and corporate returns are different beasts but for the most part they are relatively the same from one year to the next.

I never understood though why everyone thinks filing tax returns is so difficult...it is about as simple an endeavor as anyone would ever want to undertake. But like balancing a checkbook people's eyes seem to glaze over when they face a tax form....

We are the money lenders. The US prints money. We have to pay it back. The interest on the debt it very large. The debt has been bought by all sorts of individuals, retirement plans, companies, etc.

If we screw them over, we screw ourselves over. If we don't, we screw ourselves over with what we owe and the interest on the debt. If we print more money to pay it off, we become Zimbabwe.

Hell yeah!!! Increase those earning the least among us taxes by 2%.....that shite has been too long in coming. That ought to incentivize 'em to get out and earn more so they will not see an increase in their tax burden.

Seriously, WTF with the lowest income earning families paying more???? That can't possibly raise a nickel in new revenue and it will be used as a tool by the democrats to show how hateful Trump is and it will fit on a bumpersticker....

You know when Reagan cut tax rates, revenue SOARED, right? You tend to forget to add that part. The spending increases were partially on Reagan (defense) and partially on the Democrat Congress (Marxism).

It's all about the growth of the Economy. Not matter the tax rates, the Government will get about 17% of GDP. But the rates must help drive growth and not cut consumer spending.

And then the Federal Government can't spend like drunk sailors.

I've never understood this belief.

I mean sure, I agree that we should be paying less taxes and have the federal government massively reduced, but on some small scale, taxes are necessary to provide some of the services government provides.

You do know that even at the time and every time since anyone with the chops to speak sensibly on the subject says that the Reagan administration never once attributed any increase in revenue on tax cuts, right? That has only been done by people who would like to have us believe that tax revenues can increase if you lower tax rates which no sensible or knowledgable person will ever argue is true. Reagan never made this claim and none of his successors with an ounce of credibility have either...in fact many, many, many of them have tried very hard to dispel this lie but it has been ignored because the fantasy of cutting taxes and raising revenues sounds wonderful.

And democrats cut the budgets that Reagan proposed 6 out of 8 years so it is disingenuous to say that Marxism was to blame for the Reagan deficits....unless you are saying Reagan was a bigger marxist than the democrats 6 of 8 years....
