Every time I see a picture of the Taj Mahal, I think of this scene from Mars Attacks.

Trump’s Taj Mahal opened in April 1990 in Atlantic City, but six months later, “defaulted on interest payments to bondholders as his finances went into a tailspin,” The Washington Post’s Robert O’Harrow found.
In July 1991, Trump’s Taj Mahal filed for bankruptcy. He could not keep up with debts on two other Atlantic City casinos, and those two properties declared bankruptcy in 1992. A fourth property, the Plaza Hotel in New York, declared bankruptcy in 1992 after amassing debt.
PolitiFact uncovered two more bankruptcies filed after 1992, totaling six. Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts filed for bankruptcy again in 2004, after accruing about $1.8 billion in debt.
Trump Entertainment Resorts also declared bankruptcy in 2009, after being hit hard during the 2008 recession.

Well just think of him like WD40.
No 39 failures no WD40

A little context may help:
LINK (long, informative CNN piece on the state of the market in 1992)
VICTIMS OF THE REAL ESTATE CRASH The glut in offices and other commercial properties will keep piling big-dollar pain on financial institutions, taxpayers, savers -- and just about the whole world.
Apparently there was a commercial real estate crash during that time frame that crushed the entire industry.
Did Trump have some bankruptcies then? Sure. Was he the only one? No. Did he survive and continue to build? Yes.

Make all the excuses you want but he is a shite businessman. If it weren’t for a corrupt Deutsche Bank constantly bailing his arse out we'd have been rid of him a long time ago.

So using the capitalist system to be a capitalist is wrong ? Banks and other financial institutions make a living providing capital and as a risk charge interest . Trump and his investors made a financial commitment with agreements to pay interest . Being that all parties agreed is what matters , nobody builds or starts any business without risk . Since he was able to recapitalize upon bankruptcies should tell you that even the lenders considered it as sound opportunities. Don’t be a complete joke in your thought process
