Many federal workers, as reported in another thread, will be eligible for layoff in 5 days.

On top of that if Govt is still shut down by March 1, SNAP benefits will be cut off. Then all the leeches will have to either get a job or turn to stealing and be shot or jailed.

Congress could never pass such effective legislation to cut food stamps and reduce the bloated federal workforce.

Our GEOTUS is truly a very stable genius.

Hate to break it to you, but there will be zero layoffs and every one of them will receive back pay.

Let’s hope we get the wall out of it. The shutdown itself will yield nothing positive.

Edit: all you downvoters - identify yourselves and let’s bookmark this post and come back and see who was right when the gov reopens.

People not getting the welfare will be what breaks the camels back. All hell is going to break loose if they don't get their checks and I can't wait to watch it unfold.

If it makes it to 30 days and people are actually RIF, then Pelosi turned MAGA.

Pelosi rules out frivolous Impeacnment.
MAGA loses house.
MAGA endorses Pelosi for speaker, promises votes.
Pelosi gets speaker, shuts down govt.
MAGA takes the blame.
Pelosi refuses to negotiate. At all.
If there is a Deep State, they would have forced a deal from their puppet before being ousted on a technicality.

If I were Trump I would cut 10% of the workforce a week until the wall is approved.

Not like a government employee votes R anyway.

EXCEPT!!!

Every time the government has been shutdown, without exception, Congress has passed legislation that back paid everyone who was effected by the shutdown.

IOW it ends up amounting to free paid vacation for government employees. Those that used their vacation during the shutdown, also end up getting it added back to them.

I’m assuming you either don’t have anyone that you care about or that you and they are all in an impenetrable mountain fortress somewhere.

The federal government is an over bloated obese child. It's time to trim the fat and bring the discipline.

The job market is hot hot hot.

If these gov jobs were critical, the Dems should be busting over to get the wall done and the gov open so as to not lose those good workers to the private sector.

Lotta tells in the current circumstance.

If you would have the other thread you will realize that this is not an administrative furlough.

Trump lost and it's that simple. Continuing the shutdown is insane and costly. Federal employees will be paid so put them back to work.

Mitch had the ability to pass legislation for wall. He assumed the risk was not worth the fight. He wanted the majority for the Supreme Court.

Remind me to buy more ammunition at the end of February if the shutdown is still going.

Apparently, this only applies to administrative furloughs and not to furlough due to lapse in appropriations.
