In the Chris Wallace interview (29:00) Trump mentioned new power that was bestowed upon him by the Supreme Court decision on DACA. He claims this will allow him to sign, "Immigration, Healthcare, and various other plans."

He claims this will take place in approximately two weeks. Did I miss this discussion? What is Trump talking about??

I’m guessing he’s talking about the corner that SCOTUS drew itself into.

Basically, the DACA decision acknowledged that Obama’s EO was entirely illegal and illegitimate (as Obama himself admitted when he did it) but a specific process must be followed in order to revoke the invalid EO. That process takes years. So, basically, via EO Trump can just make invalid laws which must be respected until those EOs are revoked via proper process.

It really is a secret power.

Certainly hope Trump uses it wisely. But, Major Blunder by SCOTUS. And Roberts in particular.

They will basically just reverse themselves as soon as he does something they don’t like. They have zero problem being inconsistent if it screws Trump. 85% of that whole town wants nothing more then to erase him completely from every history book.

This is by far the biggest news of the weekend. He could use EO to deal with immigration and healthcare. Next 2 weeks he mentioned.

Please make wise decisions on this Mr. President.

If Republicans can demonstrate a solution to health care that deals with pre existing conditions/bankrupcy....that would be a huge game changer.

Trump seemed very confident in his interview. I was expecting much worse and to me he came off strong.( the left would say detached from reality) Corona numbers was a mistake (you hyperbolize everything you will be fact checked specifically wrong sometimes) and Bidens defund question was a semantics issue. Lots of other gotchas but he navigated strong.

John Yoo wrote about this in national review and has talked w Trumps team about this... basically the Roberts decision allows the Trump admin to skirt around congress and do some things he’s legally not able to do, but because of the ruling he can do for basically a few years until settled in court

Axios report on this

My first priority would be discreetly handpicking a special team or committee that will implement corrective actions and a system of checks and balances aimed at making sure the upcoming election process is secure.

With Trump's new power he should be able to get more shite done on this front.

All changes should be implemented at the last possible minute relatively, so that the Dems don't have enough time to successfully counter the moves.

Eliminate mail-in voting.

Only allow absentee voting with the use of new and counterfeit-proof ballots. Ballots with similar security measures as our newest $$$ bills in circulation.

Gov issued ID required to vote obviously.

Beef up the security at the sizable voting places. More eyes on the government officials working.

Much more security to ward off ANTIFA thugs.

I'm bumping this thread in the morning for the day crew to see.

Too damn big of a deal (in a good way) for this to sneak by us.

What’s to prevent a lower court from issuing an injunction and nullifying the EO until it’s litigated?

It isn't insurance if it has to cover pre-existing conditions.

Would this screw Trump though? A SCOTUS reversal would be a win for Trump then as the original decision was to go against Trump....it just opened doors for Trump in the future.

Just shows how terrible the Robert's court is. How can he not see how his DACA opinion wouldn't create new opportunities for future presidents looking to bypass Congress?
