For those of you in denial, you need to realize the nomination is Trump's if he runs.

Former President Trump won a comfortable majority of the vote in the Conservative Political Action Conference’s (CPAC) straw poll, maintaining his position as the favorite for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
Organizers announced at the convention in Texas that Trump won 69 percent of the vote, followed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) with 24 percent. Trump expanded his lead from the last CPAC straw poll in February, when he received the support of 59 percent of voting attendees to DeSantis’s 28 percent.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) came in third place with 2 percent, while other choices received 1 percent support or less.
quote:
In a hypothetical poll without Trump in the race, DeSantis held the lead, with 65 percent. Donald Trump Jr. came in second place with 8 percent, Cruz came in third with 6 percent and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo came in fourth with 5 percent.
For those of you in denial, you need to realize the nomination is Trump's if he runs.

CPAC is not a cross-section of the party. Their poll is not meaningless, but you shouldn’t read into it that Trump as the nominee is inevitable.

What faction of the party does it most represent? What are the others?

Only RINOs will support anyone but Trump or Desantis

Weird, given how many people on here try to tell me how much Trump isn’t, huh?

I’m a big DeSantis supporter.
He’s very likely the future of the party.
But like it or not, Republicans—understandably—want to vote President Trump back into the WH in 2024.
DeSantis will have his day; it’s just not quite his time yet.
He’ll continue to do yoeman’s [critical] work as governor for a few more years before accepting the baton from President Trump in 2028.

we have said this AD INFINITUM but these butthurt nevertrump pussies just DON'T GET IT. they are using a RINO mentality. oh just play nice like mittens and juan mcpain. he will be more electable that way.
the left IS the enemy and must be destroyed. many are anti-americans and nor do they value american principles. those days are gone. the left is trash. mentally ill, marxist trash.

So the ones who wouldn't vote for Trump OR DeSantis? That faction is irrelevant.

No time like the present.
CPAC is one big Trump rally.

Folks can hold their breath and pinch their nose as much as they want; the Republican majority is speaking loudly and clearly with regard to their support of President Trump.
It’s one of those “embrace it,” or step aside deals.
Again, DeSantis will have his day in the sun.
But fussing about Trump right now is akin to trying to stop a dam from cracking by plugging a hole with just a finger

I thought polls were always flawed, and never a correct representation as to what a group thinks? Weird.
