Trump whining once again about strong dollar--blast EU for rate cut weakening the Euro
The man simply does not understand that trade wars have unintended consequences. Huge steel tariffs on Americans importing from Europe and threatened auto tariffs on Europe no doubt have some negative impact on the European economy. When economies slow their central bankers will generally loosen money supply and reduce rates.

The failed democrat politician Peter Navarro that Trump put in charge of our trade policy no doubt does not care or does not understand. (what in his background would indicate he understands?)

To any person familiar with economics Trump's complaints look foolish. Why would the EU or China prop up their currency against the dollar with Trump punishing their American customers with tariffs?

quote:

“Mario Draghi just announced more stimulus could come, which immediately dropped the Euro against the Dollar, making it unfairly easier for them to compete against the USA. They have been getting away with this for years, along with China and others,” Trump tweeted.

Trump needs a weaker dollar against both the Euro and the CNY to have the maximum tariff impact on American importers. Watch for more tweets critical of the FED because they have not lowered rates yet. They meet tomorrow and given the recent manufacturing numbers and car sales numbers---neither were good--they may lower rates.

German DAX way up due to stimulus remarks from Mario Draghi. Very unfair to the United States!

Pushing the Fed to lower rates.

Let's face it, the Fed went way overboard on rate hikes when economic data didn't justify it. There is no inflation to speak of in the US yet...

It is amazing the obsession that he has and the fact that no one else cares about what he’s posting. Yet he continues to make new threads where he practically talks to himself.

No replies of consequence as usual but a thread read by many for sure.

He is a Wharton grad and one would think he absolutely understands this kind of thing would happen.

I guess given that he is educated on the issue the only thing left to speculate on is his opinion on the intelligence of his supporters?? Why say such a stupid thing as he did otherwise?

I guess that is why he keeps tweeting China is paying the tariffs.

The mere threat

Gosh, I'd suggest the EU get off its long self-serving arse and come to the table then. Because if mere threats tank the EU economy, imagine the catastrophe accompanying the real thing.

Trump lives in reality. The EU thinks it is an "everyone gets a trophy." world. As long as the US was willing to forward the fantasy and buy everyone a trophy, the EU was right. That is no longer the case. In the real world, trophies are for winners.

After the unsettling feeling of upvoting two of your other topics, it feels good to get to downvote again.
