True, RM. Those who believe DeSantis can do what he did in Florida in DC if he's 'nice' enough are as you describe them. One thing is for sure, they know that they must force Trump not to run in the Primary, or that will zonk DeSantis. That is the current Left/RINO playbook.
Personally, I don't care and don't think it will matter which one runs for POTUS as if either would win, they would have to crack down on the gas lit Leftist in the streets. And that would be the end of politics as we have know it and the beginning of violent revolution. Of the which the Dems hope to be in control of 'government' for. I do think DeSantis or Trump would be much better than any Dem, and will vote for either.

GOP is backing DeSantis counting on large numbers of R voters staying home in 2024. Split the base. We have to make a pact to vote for the candidate that is nominated. Staying home is voting D. Trump or DeSantis is a win win, but we are arguing. Cannot take the ball and go home.
