Bret Baier said essentially that Trumps team thought they had to declare the national emergency to get around the poison pills in the bill that limited where and how they could build the wall.

Because he doesn't want to shut down the government again and knows the Dems aren't budging at all. He is boxed in.

Exactly.
I think the National Emergency idea causes more risk for our country if the USSCT upholds it than if it overturns it.
The amnesty horseshite in the bill he’s signing aren’t worth the wall.
He should veto, lay off the nonessential workers and declare National Emergency if he’s so inclined.

Backed into a corner or not, he can weather the storm once again. Wish he would veto it.
