...We cannot keep FEMA, the Military & the First Responders, who have been amazing (under the most difficult circumstances) in P.R. forever!

This is like a best man at a wedding saying that most marriages end in divorce. It's true, but what a tonally insensitive thing to say.

And yet his supporters will now treat it as gospel.

Financially, PR had already turned themselves into Greece.

I think it's a fair warning to PR to tighten their chinstraps in the game of rebuilding their own island. What's insensitive about that?

Why is Trump treating PR differently than other disaster impacted areas? He's always talking about their debt. Haven't heard him mention anyone else's debt.

This is true, but Trump should have been railing about that before this disaster. To do so when 84% of people still dont have power is just in poor taste, to put it mildly.

No other state or territory is agitating for a bailout.

Well, those people pay federal income taxes and PRs don't so I can't help you in the department of "who deserves to be taken care of first" - if we're having to rank priorities here.

And a physician discussing the diagnosis and prognosis of a deadly disease with a patient would also be "right" if he said, "well you're not going to live forever anyways."

Or a teacher telling parents of children with severe physical and intellectual disabilities children and their families that "they're probably not going to learn a lot more if I actually teach them than if I play games on my phone. Besides they're probably going to a financial burden on the taxpayer anyways."

But hey if the physician and teacher are right, then it's all good.

From what I can tell is asking to be treated equally as everyone else. Their situation seems more serious though.
