That would require amending the constitution.

So you've never read H.R. 25....

Please note, Trump is saying "income taxes". Not payroll taxes

Payroll taxes are a tax on income, so no.

Again, the presumption is that we should be spending the money that we already are, at the federal level.

You can reject it to your heart's content. The federal budget isn't something you can decimate all at once. It would take 10+ years of political will to gradually eliminate programs and departments, most of which have some rich, powerful interests who don't want them going anywhere.

Trump has already hinted that the figure that is touted by conventional wisdom as comprising the "national debt" might be just as rife with fraud as USAID and every other gargantuan federal boondoggle, and may only be a fraction of what we commonly accept as being just south of $40T owed to the Federal Reserve.

You take that path only if you want the US dollar to be on par with Zimbabwe's.

The simpletons don’t understand that Treasuries value only exists because of buyer’s faith the US government’s ability to tax it citizens in the future.

The world trades in the dollar only because people have faith in the US Govt. You tell your creditors that you don't actually owe them what they think you do and that faith dies.

That number is low, per Bessent. Almost to the tune of 30% low.

Well, we shall see. With all the "deals" the Trump admin has accomplished the average effective tariff rate is now approximately 18%. There is no way this comes close to generating a trillion dollars of revenue.

And the defict is down 26% WTF? let's just make shiite up at this point.

Federal deficit 2024: $1.8 triollion
Federal Deficit 2025: $1.6 trillion w/ 2 MORE MONTHS IN THE FY TO GO

I know math is hard and that confirmation bias is a thing, but there is gullible and then there is just plain refusal to recognize reality.

The system is designed to over spend. Without overspending the banking system would collapse. The tax is inflation. The budget is balanced. Just not balanced in the way people traditionally think budgets are balanced.

How about cutting 100% of all the fraud, the waste, the red-tape bureaucracy ladened overlap with departments that are Unconstitutional formed and serve nothing but a thorn in the American tax payers sides.

Do that at the same time as the tariffs and abolishing the Federal Reserve, and we will be as close to UTOPIA as it gets!!!

Until they ABOLISH THE FED, I don’t trust Trump, and I love the guy, I was at the “Stop the Steal” rally on December of 2019 & was at J6, huge Patriot, peaceful American tax payer that is fed up with this shite, enough is enough.

ABOLISH THE FED!

$40 Trillion in debt, holding rh worlds reserve currency, would be the perfect time to move to a hard-asset backed monetary system.

What a coincidence, income taxes also can't fund the current behemoth.

It's almost like revenue alone will never fix the problem.

So tariffs are revenue, not an impetus to return mfg.

Sure, if that's as deep as you're capable of thinking about this issue.
