Just make it crystal clear that he is signing it so that Congress can have the 3 weeks they are requesting and if the legislation in 3 weeks does not include funding for the bollard wall he will not sign it and the "shutdown" will be on Congress.

ETA: NEVERMIND IM SORRY!!!!!!!

It will look worse if he has to shut down the gov again. The optics dont play out that way, even if it makes sense logically. The longer this shut down goes on the more people will blame congress for not giving him the money.

I thought he did that the last time, and didn't get a very encouraging response from the one's who put him in office. He promised he wouldn't sign another budget without wall funding. The Dems played it on the the chance they knew they would regain the House and now have just become obstructionist.

not just no but frick no

why? for what possible reason unless you want to surrender.

we already have exactly what you thing they should kick down the road for 3 more weeks. so whats different 3 weeks from now except the dimms win and the ones already defecting get cold feet and go back to nancys side again?

the dimms already own this 100% and everyone knows it, including the democrat voters

If you open it up for 10 minutes, the Dems will go crazy/shark feed and you'll never systematically shut it down again.

Shutdown is now on Old Chuck and Nancy now anyway.. Old Chuck refusing to even take on paying the coast guard shows the Democrats are trying just stop in any way they can.. This will slowly start backfiring on Democrats now that it shows them on the floor failing too work with GOP on crap..

The only reason I’d consider this is it would demonstrate Trump is flexible and reasonable And when the Dems refuse to negotiate again it would make them look worse. So good optics strategically there.

On the flip side, all the Fed workers would get their back pay and would relieve the pressure which we need to force movement.

Screw that, let's keep it shut down until the wall is built. There should be a lot of new jobs available in construction for those furloughed. We were already paying them, we can just pay them to build the wall now instead.
