No I am not. Trying to prove that not every grocery item has increased.

One other thing I purchase a lot of is chicken thighs. I prefer the dark meat because you can cook the shite out of it and worry less about drying it out.

quote:

According to restaurant wholesale pricing, the cost of thighs rose to an average of about $2.82 / lb in June 2022.

In August 2025 the average national price for chicken thighs (bone-in or boneless) was around $1.78/lb.

Cheaper.

My Tuna and Chicken thighs are cheaper under Trump than Biden. Good source of protein and not loaded with carbs or sugars.

Also none of this will go as cheap as it was pre 2020 mainly because labor costs have increased. So pay people more, shite costs more.

This is what you said. Then, you said your list went up from last week to this week.

I think your memory is failing you gramps.

And I don't eat candy so I don't give a frick about your wife's chocolate bars. That's not something most Americans buy or even should be buying every week.

Anyone thinking you were going to get prices below what they were 6-7 years ago is just retarded.

I agree but its perception that matters as much as reality. And let say even if grocery prices were down 3-5%...which they aren't, Trump acting like he has solved that issue and anyone complaining about is a loser and a liar is fricking insulting to anyone not in the cult. And this wasnt just one Truth post. He has repeatedly patted himself on the back in high profile interviews the past few weeks for bringing down prices....Folks might not pay attention to his daily truth posts exaggerating about whatever. But they pay attention to that grocery bill and what he says he is doing about it.

I said prices were out of control in JNU.

The lower 48 will soon find out. We are the canary in the coal mine. due to logistics.

Absolutely agree.

Some items are cheaper now, some aren't. Either way, the overall prices never go down once they go up. That drastic increase happened under the guy that fricked his daughter in the shower from 2021-2024.

Trump has got to stop saying things are getting cheaper. Biden admin did the same thing and it pissed people off to no end.

Yeah the Biden admin posting "best economy ever" while grocery bills skyrocketed didn't go over too well.

I just wish Trump would stop gaslighting and promising things on day one and be honest and say these are hard problems that will take time to fix.

Still going up. Grocery prices are up 3% (as of September) from a year ago.

oh GFY with this shite. He's accomplished more in his first year than any other president has accomplished in two terms. His record aint perfect and he still has a lot to do, but your frickery about gaslighting and overpromising is ridiculous.

Additionally, many of the name-brand items have been replaced by Walmart’s Great Value items.

you seem to be posting a lot of these type articles are you up against hard times have you thought about checking out a food bank for part of your "holiday meal" or i figured as part of your hourly wage job you're employer would give you a turkey, i've heard some employers do that.

you must be part of the 63% of americans that can't cover an unexpected 500 dollar expense,

maybe if you posted less and focus more on your work you'd make more money!

This is the only article I've posted referring to anything grocery related except for pointing out the other day that government run grocery stores (Mamdani related topic ) have failed when tried i nthe US but had mixed results overseas.

No more than your average American with two kids. We dont eat out as much as we used to or travel as much but we are getting by ok.

i actually worked for a local Food Bank in college. Great people and worthy charity but luckly Im not in need.

Im salary...no turkey but I do get two weeks paid vacation that doesnt come out of my leave so that a nice perk.

I have a pretty good amount in my retirement account and keep enough cash in the bank to cover most unexpected expenses throughout the year. My credit score is above 800 and Im well insured so no I dont fall into that category.

Maybe so....we all waste time on here that probably would be better used elsewhere but then I would never get to engage with such warm individual like yourself

Then perhaps Trump should'nt have promised it...and worse yet said he has delivered on it.

I don't recall him saying that he would reduce all prices. Do recall him talking about eggs and gas/fuel prices. Egg were over $30 for 2 1/2 dozen in early January. They are about $13 here now. That is close to 60% down. I was paying over $3 in January and paid $2.48 yesterday. That is almost 20% reduction. Seems like he kept those promises. He kept the promise about securing the border, he's deporting illegals, getting the woke out of the military, has ended 7 or 8 wars/conflicts, peace in the middle east. I'm good with all of those. To the TDS afflicted folks, nothing he could ever do would be enough.

Drop tariffs and other regulations that hinder the ag economy.

What tariffs are hinding the ag economy? We don't import grain. Farmers don't buy new tractors and equipment every year. Those things last decades. I'm still using a Massey Ferguson 175 tractor that was built in 1971. Beef prices are way up (too much even), the high price of beef certainly isn't caused by tariffs and is not hurting the ag economy. If you're gonna spew your liberal dung, try to know what you're talking about next time.

Trump told the faithful that he would bring prices down and they voted for him. Even now he continues to lie and claims that prices
are now low and under control.
