They were counting on a Kamala win. That's what the media told them would happen. They didn't pivot fast enough. We are where we are.

My thought is do this over months, not years. This would be just another tool in the kit.

Agreed, but whatever costs are incurred must be recouped by US from that country.

I have a friend who teaches in a heavily Hispanic area and she’s hearing that most will go back on their own. They won’t risk raids, potential separation, etc. better to do the right thing.

Do they have a lot of money to take with them? I've never seen any data on that.

A while back I saw a number quoting the amount of $$ wire transferred from here to Mexico monthly. Can’t remember the number but it was pretty substantial.

Some of these people are paying cartel coyotes $10,000-$15,000 to get them in here. For poor, downtrodden travelers in need of relief? Where are they getting that money?

Turn yourself in and you get a free flight back home, and you can take what money you have with you. Families stay together during the process.

We catch you? We seize everything but the clothes on your back. You stay in detention until we can get you on a flight. Might be a week, might be months. You'll see your family when you see them. Men and women's detention will be separate.

Probably get a lot of them out of here for the cost of a flight.

I also think for those who have good standing with proof from the areas they live in we possibly start a process of becoming a citizen or at least help then get something really started.

I also have the urge to make the other side feel pain but we won, maybe we should show some compassion here.

We will gain more support and faith with sugar.

We have shown enough compassion to the illegals that exist in this country and have had a hand in creating the mess we currently have... We have provided free education, many free benefits, and have suffered as a result of their flaunting our laws... Compassion runs the frick out...

Moreover, if removed by ICE you are permanently prohibited from ever applying for a visa or legal status.

Dude, compassion never runs out.

I feel your pain but the illegals arent the only ones who are causing major problems, especially financial ones.

The only thing I would add is to let them turn in their application for admission before they leave. I am not saying that they will be admitted, but they will at least be on the list for consideration for admission. That way, we can say for humanitarian purposes, "This does not mean you will be allowed back into the US but you have done the first thing to legally immigrate to the US. If you try to reenter illegally again, you and your descendents will NEVER be admitted into the US"

Promotes LEGAL IMMIGRATION which made this country GREAT!

What??

quote:

The FAIR study, released in March last year, documented the financial toll of illegal immigration on the U.S., taking into account factors like emergency medical care, incarcerating illegal aliens in local jails, and federal budgets that pay out billions in welfare every year, pegging the net annual cost at $150.7 billion.

Think again.

Anyone that came illegally should be barred from ever becoming a citizen, unless they go back home and start the process over.

Also ship the Afghans on TPS to Iraq

Gonna have a bitch of a time with that because they can pretty easily just start the asylum process since they likely went through a legal port of entry and are already in the system.

Out of all of them, the Afghans are going to be the hardest, especially because Biden is a primary reason their country turned into a murderous hellhole.

And they don't speak Pashto in Iraq. You would have to send them to Pakistan or Iran if you want to find a lot of Pashto speakers and I doubt they would take them.

Add in "if we have to come get you, you'll never be allowed legal citizenship. If you self deport, you can get in the legal line for review."

I would add that if you leave voluntarily you can be put on the list to reenter legally at some point.

If you are deported you are on another (naughty) list and are barred from every entering the US for any reason.

You can wear out your welcome with any one and this group has worn out their welcome here... frick your compassion, it is much of what has gotten us here... I hope they are in constant fear until they figure out they are here illegally and have to return to their country or face the consequences of their actions...

Pakistan wont take them and they understand Arabic from Islam. Iraq isn't a real country and we control large parts of it. No one could stop it from happening either.
