BIGLY

The load-to-truck ratio on the spot market in the dry van segment closed December with a record-high 9-to-1 load-to-truck ratio, according to DAT Solutions. That’s the most tilted monthly average ratio since DAT began measuring load-to-truck ratios in 2010. Given the segment’s tightness, per-mile van rates jumped to $2.11, also a record-high for DAT’s spot market data. The spot market in the second half of 2017 soared, with freight availability seeing big gains, and, thus, driving up rates.

I love a good load-to-truck ratio.

The comment on this article is very telling...
The majority of company truck drivers in Memphis are black. They compose a yuge Trump voting bloc.
Most will tell you how they voted for Mr. Soetoro in 2008 and 2012 but his failed policies did nothing but deprive them of affordable healthcare and their wages remained stagnant for the better part of a decade all while seeing their income taxes increase year after year.
Sound familiar ?

Thank you President Trump. Policy being enforced on your watch has led me to have the best month in forever. ELD along with immigration crack downs has helped those of us who have been doing things the right way to finally make what we are truly worth.

Umm... are yall fricking retarded?
I'm happy for the trucking companies earning more
but that's not as good for you guys as you think
Because of this - you can expect the manufactures and companies who make the goods, to increase the price to cover the cost. IE... goods go up in price.
I'm on the brokerage side of it and this isn't going to turn out pretty.
I'm talking about taking a load of fruit cups from Pharr tx to Indianapolis (about 1350 miles).. want to know the rates? 7 grand, 6 grand, 8.5 grand
guys... that's going to drive up your prices when you buy shite because these companies are paying out the arse to get a truck to move.
Shorter runs - between 400-600 miles have become damn near impossible because of those fricking Obama mandates.. the ELD logs make it so hard for these drivers to do 1 day transits... so we have to pay for 2 day transits... what's that mean? Cost goes for 600 to 1200.. that's great for the trucks I guess.. but not the 300 million americans who buy the shite that comes off the trucks
Also what most you guys fail to realize, 2/3 of the trucking industry are immigrants who come here from Macedonia on cheap arse immigrant tax credits given to foreigners for starting a business.. they stay here for 5 years and dip. They don't speak english, you can't get updated information for customers because of poor services on their parts and the trucking industry is littered with them.. especially bad in Chicago and Cali.

All I want is for truckers to keep their asses out of the inside lane if they can't even drive the fricking speed limit.

Also - I understand that the reason the ratio is so high is because the economy is booming - start expecting prices to go up until we get more trucks in the market

Don’t start a sentence with “Ummm”
That’s something passive aggressive teenagers do.
No you’re not... You just typed an essay explaining why you aren’t happy that trucking companies are doing well.
Sorry you can’t gut your customers via email anymore.

so you think a good rate going from Memphis to Dallas should be 2 grand? 450 miles
Can you even math bro
Last year I was doing 900-1000 on that lane. DAT board is inaccurate and you're looking at it from a skewed perspective because you don't know what the frick you're looking at

FYI - I am, because my drivers are mostly americans who call me when there's a problem, don't bullshite, and they do their job.
So yes, I do pay them more because they are RELIABLE

and don't tell me how to start my sentence; you ain't but an hour away from an arse kicking. I'm over in Stuttgart big boy

We love our trucks, don't we folks?
Posted on 1/6/18 at 10:45 am to Codythetiger
Well then get more trucks in the fricking market
Keep the frick up
Keep the frick up
Posted on 1/6/18 at 10:45 am to reggierayreb
actually I'm sitting here working on a Saturday trying to cover a 700 mile run and getting quoted 4 grand on 5k lbs worth of plastic.

That's not my job - although, for the next 3 years, I can see about buying a truck and trailer and making a quick 100g's every year.

If you are in the brokering business,I hope you are trying to get across to your shippers, that they need to work on their loading times, and fining the consignees for stupid unloading times.
