Bro, I don't know about you, but my local Catholic church is more pro life than any organization in the entire area.

There are currently hundreds of crosses on the front lawn property representing the unborn children killed from abortion. They do it every few months.

They also go to the March for Life every year. The priest also tells parishioners that voting for a cnadiate that backs abortion is supporting pure evil.

Really? Because the Catholic Church has missionaries teaching illiterate Africans in towns of less than 50 people with HIV positivity rates of 50% that using condoms is a mortal sin.

That’s pretty fricking pro-life

YES. They straddle the line for donations.

MONEY. Money runs the church.

Stop dude. They are also preaching marriage and celibacy. You act like they are just saying go have random unprotected sex.

They’re saying getting AIDS is bad, but not QUITE AS BAD as being damned to hell for all eternity because you used a rubber.

They preach don’t have sex outside of marriage. Guess what, if you don’t have sex outside of marriage and are not protected you won’t get aids from sex.

Churches are declining, in no small part, because they make the kind of concessions you’re proposing.

When you soften your principles, and make church easy, you make it less attractive to parishioners.

The Episcopal church is the best example of that. If the church had stuck to its principles, and stood up to sin, it would have survived.

Perhaps, but the fact that genuine belief appears to be declining is also playing a significant role. Many of the stories within the Bible are becoming increasingly difficult to reconcile with our evidence based understanding of our reality, and for many people if Adam and Eve, the Exodus, etc. weren’t real they dont see any reason to continue believing the rest of it.

Agreed - Bonhoeffer’s god of the gaps is a problem.

Still, science can not fill the social and culture void that religion does. And it’s not a moral model for life, it’s a method for conducting experiments.

Touching children is also evil. And the current pope is a fraudulent Christian demon.

There is literally only one story in the entire Bible necessary to your belief as a Christian and it is the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

It wholly depresses me that almost no one I know goes to church and it’s because mainstream catholic faith has become an entirely political; secular, non-Christian organization.

That’s not too say you cannot find good people or good communities, but the leadership and mission and organization as a whole forgot what it means to be a Christian a very long time ago.

Christianity is a deeply personal and deeply spiritual belief system based on the life, teachings, and faith in Jesus Christ as lord and savior. It does not matter what some evil demon in the Vatican says.

I think it’s telling, and unfortunate, that you see this as being un Christian. Christianity does have a problem with innaction - with being weak and timid.

The Pope is a POS scumbag who wouldn’t be welcome in most faithful catholic circles and his minions are out there pushing leftist doctrine.

I was really just cracking a joke but frankly it isn't the kind a language we use in Church. To each his own, dude. Worship as you wish.

I am a Catholic and I approve of this message

I sat in the pew for decades as the death cult (Democrat's)gained power through the 80s and 90s and the false prophets ( not all priest) but especially on the east coast, all but endorse democrat candidates. I saw lies about Rush Limbaugh posted on the bulletin board in the Catholic life center!
(Rush was the loudest most consistent voice against abortion at the time! )
I saw articles published in the Catholic Commentator by catholic priest making excuses for people voting for the baby killers.

I believe in the faith but I will quote Pope John Paul I and he said this in the 1960s, pre-Vatican II, ( "the smoke of satan has entered the church")
