Congress is full of wimps.

This tax bill looks worse every time I read something on it. Oh it cuts the corporate rate BUT it leaves in the AMT that will negate a lot of that cut. It gives pass throughs a small break but eliminates deductions that will negate a lot of that.

Trump will sign it and declare it the great tax bill of all time.

Look it is time to "man up" and do what is right. Put in flat rate on income over $30K, end all the consumer deductions like mortgage interest and school debt interest and charity deductions, treat asset purchases by business as cash expenses instead of making them depreciate them over time, end the AMT and earn income tax credits.

This crap they are about to pass is just rehashed tax policy is a very long way from tax reform.

Just run for office tax man. It seems like unless you write the bill, you won't be happy.

Why is revenue generated from derivatives excluded from banks’ tax bills? That makes less than zero sense.

I can’t find anyone that has proposed any answer other than basically ‘it’s a payout to the banks’.

Yes some middle class and lower income folks are helped by this bill in the short term. But the number of heads being stuck in the sand about the disproportionate benefit going to big business is astounding.

Out of curiosity, are Republicans actually happy about the contents of this tax bill? I mean, I get being excited about a potential win, but when Trump promised a tax overhaul so extensive that it would put H&R Block out of business, is this what you all envisioned?

It's certainly not what I had in mind.
