you are stretching the truth to imply that
- "Thank you to Rex Tillerson for his service!"
- "Congratulations to all!"

... can be equated to "congratulating HIM".

I'm sure Trump was pleased on a number of occasions with Rex, and I'm sure Trump does, in fact, appreciate his service. But nonetheless.. your thread title is basically fake news.

Heavily disagree. People may not "fit" in an organization, but that doesn't mean you can't acknowledge the work they did.

I think Trump did the appropriate thing here. Not seeing the controversy.

It's almost as if Trump is giving them specific duties or task to complete, and when they accomplish it, they are told to leave. The next person up has a specific task. Just goes to show the American public that things can be accomplished without career politicians.

"you're fired. congratulations on the fine job you did though"

I'm looking at the Trump tweet you posted, and I am simply NOT seeing either of those sentiments. I'm sure you are a nice, fine, intelligent person... but in this instance, you are reaching. Trump's message does not say what you say it says.

But to your quote above, I think we can find a lot of instances where an employee committed a fireable offense but was also congratulated on doing a fine job as well. Particularly when the news is announced to the company... or to the world.
